Crash Detectives is a pretty good programme, there's about 5 series' of it on Iplayer if it takes your fancy.

I'm surprised all bikes don't have this to be fair. Merc Cars have had this for years

BMWs have it, my XR1000 had it, and it needed a warranty fix within months. I'll take my chances.

Mine regularly says it has no connection. And one time (at band camp) it got water in it when I was washing it a bit too enthusiastically, and then dialled the BMW emergency people every time I turned the ignition on. That was fun.

Still nice to know it (might) work when needed.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Don’t know if this is a new (or even good) idea, but looks cool

I've seen that a couple of times too - looks CAF to me too. No idea what the potential disadvantages are..... maybe @Barry or @tim would have an idea?

It's reinventing the wheel to my eyes, and adding complication and weight for no real gain? My flip front Shoei is dead simple to drop on, with one moving part and clamped either side.

I'm sure you could get that past the various testing standards just as much, but I'm happy with my old fashioned lid tbh.

Am off to the Bike show this Friday actually, I'll see if those are on demo 😎

I imagine removal post crash could be difficult as the moving parts are at the rear of the head requiring a casualties head to be lifted to disengage the mechanism to enable removal

I'm a bit sceptical too.

Will be interesting to hear what Barry thinks of them, if they're allowing people to try them on.

TBH, putting on a helmet isn't that difficult, and after 5 minutes you forget about the strap unless you've done it up too tightly.

My biggest worry would be the mechanism jamming and having my head stuck in the helmet  Most half decent motorcycle helmets have cheek pads that can be pulled out relatively easily in an emergency, which makes the helmet easier to take off. Dunno if that helmet also has that feature.

Looks good for glasses wearers. It's a pain in the hole juggling glasses, gloves, zips, straps etc and then realising I've done something in the wrong order
