AI is getting wanker by the day. I wondered what a GTV V6 cost new, and the AI tells me:
"The Alfa GT V6 was never sold as a new car, as it is a vintage model from the late 1970s" - sold as a used car from the factory, then I guess.
Anyway, for those who don't want to wade through the ML shit, the answer is £37k in todays money, or £9500 in 1981.

My Dad had a 214 SLi, was one of his favourite cars....until it was stolen from a multi-story carpark (of which security was part of his remit, we don't let him forget it). He then bought another one, and discovered that the key works on other Rover 214's - when he opened and got into the wrong car once.
Still a great shape, and look how clean that interior design is. Always wanted a Tomcat!

I had a 214 SLi, then a VVC coupe. Both good cars, if the later was a little under-tyred.
Tried a few Turbos before I bought my VVC. They were Hella quick but also a touch nose heavy and a little unruly.

When the Talbot/Chrysler car plant in Linwood closed (Proclainers - Linwood no more) an airport car park quickly appeared there. About 1.5 miles of dual carriageway from there to the Glasgow Airport roundabout.

I think a pre-facelift 200 with the grey lower body and original wheel trims would be a perfect Festival of the Unexceptional car. My parents bought a new 214sei in dark metallic green, the engine was a peach coming from their previously owned cvh powered Escort.

It also makes me glad I used the Heathrow park and ride last week where it's simply a massive parking lot and I kept my car keys.

In the end I had to report it (To the Parking Company and to work) because, being a company vehicle, I couldn't risk them finding something dropped down between the seats etc when I handed it back. Embarrassment, loss of car allocation etc - not worth the risk
(In their defence though, it was a lovely place to sit...
