Re: Trump
They’ve played it well, but saying he will likely win next year if the Gaza deal lasts.. he won’t want to rubbish it too much (probably) if he’s set to get it
Cheers,

Re: Trump
It won’t last. The cynic in me says Israel need relief from the, quite justified , international condemnation and want to stop short of incurring sanctions
And the Palestinians need to re-group, militarily, before their next wave of attacks because… well “River to the Sea” etc.
I give it a fortnight

Re: Trump
While he's taking all the credit, there are plenty of others that should be recognised.DaveE wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:04 pmI wouldn't go that far, but I do agree that on Gaza, he does deserve credit (if things do improve there)Rich B wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:00 pm it’s bad isn’t it, that you almost in a way don’t want them to end the war in Gaza because Trump has been part of the solution…. i said almost!
The problem with Trump and the Nobel Prize IMO is that Gaza is the only good thing he's done and everything else has been really bad (not even neutral)

I agree that it won’t last, but it will take Palestine many years to regroup militarily. Effectively, you have an entire young population that hates their neighbours and has been radicalised even further. And that’s before you get to both sides’ frantic religious masturbation.dinny_g wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 4:54 pm It won’t last. In the meantime, the Western protestors can start dusting off their climate-change placards again and buy some new cans of “Sticks Like Shit” for next Saturday.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Trump
The nobel committee were asked about this. Instead of saying "he wasn't nominated in time", they said (and I'm paraphrasing here - but not by much) "the committee works in an office surrounded by portraits of former laureates; people who have shown real courage and integrity. We base our decision on the work and will of Alfred Nobel"
For the slow witted, they basically flat out stated that they don't believe Trump has the values to be granted such an important honour.

Re: Trump
Apparently he did help bring in place the peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan (or Albania and Aberbyjan, as he called it) but yeah considering Trumps administration continues to supply Israel with military intelligence, armaments and money while it annihilates Gaza and the West Bank, I'm not sure aiding a cease fire makes up for this, among all the other shitty things he's done like threatening to invade Canada, Greenland and sending innocent people to the mega jail in El Salvador, starting to build a wall between the USA and Mexico, Storming of Capitol Hill, etc...DaveE wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:04 pmI wouldn't go that far, but I do agree that on Gaza, he does deserve credit (if things do improve there)Rich B wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:00 pm it’s bad isn’t it, that you almost in a way don’t want them to end the war in Gaza because Trump has been part of the solution…. i said almost!

From an interview I saw with someone from the Nobel institute, when asked about Trump, they don't seem ignorant to the above, but they did say that he could be eligible to receive the prize next year

And renaming his Department of Defense to the Department of War. Re: Trump
Trump has openly bragged about how much money his friends made shorting stock during the previous tariff announcements....so we all know how this'll go.
Once again, still amazed at how the American's are just sitting and letting this happen.
