Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
They don’t, it’s just what they charge you. I believe BMW dealers make a 50% uplift on service parts/consumables so it’s probably similar across those brands.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your fleet running reports
Yes good point - I was being naive not thinking all that stuff is marked up over cost.
Interestingly though the cost of the filter is the same as online.

Seems a shame they charge so much for labour but I guess they know their marketGG. wrote: Sat Oct 04, 2025 2:30 pm
No just oil and filter. Looking at the invoice £150 of it was just the oil and a further £30 for the filter. That in itself is annoying as Eurocarparts sell the oil for £120 - why would a dealer buying in bulk pay over retail![]()
Re: Your fleet running reports
I appreciate I live in a Third World Country but Porsche Centre Cardiff (now Newport) charge £125+vat for cars over 10 years old.

I like how the recall doesn’t address the oil leak concern but merely is a failsafe to keep the car together once it goes kaput

Zoe needed a new reversing bulb, so I fitted one. Unlike last time the light wasn't full of water, so it was a two minute job to complete.
MoT next week fingers crossed.

O/T but that image was very slow loading for me. So that site may not be a good imgur replacement.Mito Man wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 4:08 pm I like how the recall doesn’t address the oil leak concern but merely is a failsafe to keep the car together once it goes kaput

I’ve used imgbb since the photobucket mess but I think it’s all the imgur users migrating there causing it to slow downJobbo wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:22 pmO/T but that image was very slow loading for me. I love how they felt they had to put that bit in writing.JLR wrote:If the wheel hub assembly and the suspension collapse or detach from the vehicle, vehicle stability will be compromised and the degree of directional control will be minimised, significantly increasing the risk of an accident.

I must have been the last Defender owner to get the letter as the recall appears to originally have been issued 10 years ago! I am now rather concerned and need to have a look under the car for any splitting axle welds

Which if unnoticed leads to

The recall is just a bracket that will keep the axle from completely coming off the car if the weld fails but if anything makes inspecting for cracked welds impossible

All very piss poor.

Mine was due this recall before I sold it, but with two failed visits to the dealer (the first time they forgot to order the parts. The second time they called me to book the car in I sat for two hours in the waiting area, only to be told that they had fifty sets of backorder and no idea when they would arrive).Mito Man wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 11:15 am I must have been the last Defender owner to get the letter as the recall appears to originally have been issued 10 years ago! In the end I visually checked them myself and told the trader that I sold it to that the recall needed doing. And yes, the 'fix' is poor!

Up GTi has been serviced, once again cheap and hassle free.
It'll be going up for sale soon, once I've found the replacement, so if anyone wants a brilliant little city car, let me know.

It took 3 other cars to die for body cuts to save this one but it was worth it. It’s a 320 with 5 speed auto, cruise, aircon, heated electric memory seats, twin airbags, both sportline packs and genuine AMG aero 3 split rims and bodykit. I’ve made a couple of modifications but nothing that cant be reversed. Late car registered in 1997, took about 2 and half years to complete but still need to do the interior.
I’ve no idea how to upload a picture here sorry.
I followed your build on there and it was great to see how it came along.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Another MOT pass for the ML.
As the roads have been re-surfaced by money laundering fuckwits and road folk it's now a 10 foot car which is disappointing. I will give it a go to improve it but quite a few tiny stone chips from the gravel roads the council made have taken their toll.
So it got me thinking, the end of 2026 may be a good time to look at a 5.5 ML63.
Dave!

Re: Your fleet running reports
Evora passed its MOT today after initially failing for the headlight washers not activating. By the time the specialist told me the pump had already been replaced, and they were working again (£48 for the part, but £115 labour to diagnose and replace) but as soon as he mentioned it I realised I hadn’t seen them actuating for feckin ages. I think they may have been broken last year too and just not noticed during the MOT.
Mrs mik has trimmed the wheels on her E-Tron to the point that they NEED a refurb. I was casually browsing and spotted replicas of her OEM wheels in black (as opposed to silver) for a good price, so went for it. Had the OEM summer tyres swapped onto these - the plan now to get the original wheels refurbed in a single colour (ie not diamond cut) and I have ordered a set of winters for them.
Replicas have an extra 12mm of offset, so stick-oot more. Which I was fully aware of at purchase and liked the sound of. Definitely toughens the visuals a bit, although I don’t have a direct before&after so this may not be obvious.

Re: Your fleet running reports
You should probably have gone for alloys with 12mm less offset to avoid her trimming them
Look really good though.

I haven’t told her, as that would become the cause of the next kerbing….Jobbo wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 6:42 am You should probably have gone for alloys with 12mm less offset to avoid her trimming them

Re: Your fleet running reports
How the hell do you get an MOT for an EV
Re: Your fleet running reports
(Even though I mentioned MOT in relation to the Evora) You go to the MOT station and ask for one. Almost all the shizzle they check for the MOT is applicable to EV’s too.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Mik is correct! I was worried I would have to take it to an EV specialist. Although I guess the caveat is that if they find someone wrong in an EV specific way then you have to go to the EV specialist.mik wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 8:26 am(Even though I mentioned MOT in relation to the Evora) You go to the MOT station and ask for one.
