Harry’s Garage
Re: Harry’s Garage
Ah, it's clearly been removed but it was up there for ages.

Good! We just need one of these signposts to be put up

I will say that this has made me more convinced about buying an F type.

Me too, also I didn’t realise they did a 2 litre version.Explosive Newt wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 10:31 am I will say that this has made me more convinced about buying an F type.
Re: Harry’s Garage
Don’t buy the 2.0 - it’s an Ingenium.
Re: Harry’s Garage
I like the 997 GT2 RS he has reviewed this week. But would rather they had painted the bonnet. And if it had been a PDK; Harry mentions the weight of the clutch a couple of times and comments on the gearshift not being that great - he even has a visible mid-shift where it doesn’t go straight into 3rd from 2nd at one point and he has to try again. Thanks but in a lairy 620bhp car I’d rather not have to deal with a recalcitrant gear change
Re: Harry’s Garage
It's awesome

Double stoopid speedo though. 25mph increments, utilising only 180 degrees of arc. I bet every driver ignores it and uses the digital readout.
I noticed the 2nd-to-3rd fumble too (12mins05s), but viewing a few times it looked like Harry was trying a bit too hard to guide it rather than allowing the gate springing to do the job for him. I just took that as lack of familiarity with the car (and now a bit too used to fwappy paddles

Re: Harry’s Garage
My Boxster had 25mph increments. Isn’t it a Porsche thing for all the 996/997 generation cars at least? Mitigated by the excellent digital readout.
Re: Harry’s Garage
JIC
Large central rev counter containing a digital speedo and small 180' analogue speedo with 25mph increments.
Epic car, I'd be quite happy with a "normal" GT2 though given that's probably 3x the value!

Re: Harry’s Garage
Yes I should have clarified that I know the GT2 isn't unique in having 25mph increments. Lots of them are stoopid.

Re: Harry’s Garage
That GT2 RS is a beautiful thing. The interior, steering wheel etc looks positively retro now.
I wasn't sure about the carbon bonnet in that colour, but maybe it stood out more because of the lighting in his garage.
I really would like to drive some GT cars to see how they all compare in the real world on the real road surfaces we have up this way.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I wasn’t a fan of the steering wheel. Porsche offered a much more attractive wheel at the time than that one - can’t understand why they fitted something which would have been in a basic Boxster, just trimmed in alcantara.
Re: Harry’s Garage
If I was buying a car like that I wouldn’t consider it, I was just surprised they offered such a small engine.
Re: Harry’s Garage
The 2.0 F-Type was the Grand Tour’s car for guests to drive so it wasn’t particularly well hidden from the public.

Re: Harry’s Garage
No, this one which is in a 2010 GT3 RS:

Re: Harry’s Garage
I do prefer the look of the “polished alu” look center and black leather, but aren’t they the same steering wheel otherwise?
Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: Harry’s Garage
I see 3 different wheels (2 above plus the one on Harry's test GT2RS).Marv wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 4:56 pm I do prefer the look of the “polished alu” look center and black leather, but aren’t they the same steering wheel otherwise?
Re: Harry’s Garage
Correct. The giveaway being that they are different shapes, albeit the outer rim is round in each.
The one in Mike’s post has some inserts where PDK or Tiptronic switches would be fitted. The one on Harry’s video has big plastic spokes which extend into the rim and feel horrible when you touch them.
