Very successsful event. Over £2million raised. Respect to all involved.

I had to nip out to see my mum on Sunday however, and found myself on a section of road being used for one of the longer stages. And whilst the shorter stages were on closed routes, the longer ones were not. "Caution - cycling event" signage only.
Not hundreds, but thousands of cyclists - ranging hugely in capability - out on the road with all the normal traffic, including buses & trucks yada yada. For several hours, all traffic was effectively slowed to the pace of the slowest riders with normal traffic coming in the other direction > as you'd imagine, this caused issues for the faster riders trying to move through the group (as they had to under/overtake cars & buses too), and issues with impatient drivers trying to nip past cyclist 8473 only to get 5m further up the road and sit on the rear wheel of cyclist 8474.

If it's repeated, I hope they get approval to close all roads as appropriate.
