Must've felt rather nice driving those for the first time in five years!

Marv, you will be pleased to know that due to your 968, whenever I spec a Porsche on the configurator I tend to choose Paint To Sample Amethyst. If I ever order one I’ll bring it to Suffolk and see how it compares to your original.

Pleasingly I discovered that BMW Individual seem to have quite a few Porsche colours available now and they’re more like £5k rather than £8-9k so if I get an M5 Touring I’ll still be able to do it.

Both look so familiar! 8-) I mentally named your M3 “Flippers” after we discussed that design feature…..

5 years?!?!? Being an international man of mystery sure doesn't leave much time for cars  That CSL is doing better than most investment funds.

Absolutely brilliant pair of cars.

If you could buy a green 5 series Alpina of some kind though that would be lovely thanks.

The 500e fuel gauge does the same and a tank of V-Piwer cures it like your boss said.

I bet the CSL induction noise feels even better compared to modern stuff.

Lovely. Where did you store the 968 if you don't mind me asking?

The front wheel on the CSL also looks like it has some extreme camber in the last pic - is that right or just a trick of the light in that image?

@Rich B Thanks Rich!

@speedingfine After driving my dads old 2005 E220 CDI Estate (I call it the Silver Whale) through the winters for the years my cars were in storage, the M3 felt pretty quick and lovely through the corners.

@Jobbo That would be interesting! So you can spec the 1990's Amethyst, rather than the current modern one? I'm obviously biased and prefer my Amethyst over the modern version ;) For a new BMW, I'd most likely just spec techno violet, rather than a Porsche colour!

@mik I might have to start calling it that too! Flipp'er?

@Matty If I didn't put any miles on it and enjoy it during the first 6 years of ownership, think of what it would be worth now

@V8Granite Why a green 5-series Alpina? Can I have a BRG Green S1 Elise or Caterham instead? The CSL induction sound is addictive, which is why I always find myself going faster than I really want to! I kind of want a motorbike with an engine that's as special as the one in the CSL, but not flaky and Italian...

@GG. For the first year, it was in a storage container on Bentwaters park. Then I found a Porsche specialist closer to where I moved to. Both cars were stored with them for £200/month. I had it in storage with them for about 3 years, then I got them back when the garage was built just over a year ago. They sat in the garage for another year, while we worked on getting the house finished. Now the house is finished and I'm back at work, I should be able to start enjoying them again! The camber isn't that crazy, think it's some weird camera optics going on.

Because I really like the 968 and CSL but not a big fan of Elise’s, I would like a Green E39 Alpina and if I can’t get one then someone else has to 😂

I didn’t know they’d done an updated Amethyst; it’s only been available as a Paint to Sample option for about £9k on a 992. Usually when they update a colour they call it Neo (as with Rubystar and Oak Green) so I’d hope it’s the original shade. They do other 944 era colours as PTS like Cobalt.

If I did order one I’d be very disappointed if it wasn’t the same shade as yours for that price!

The Aventurine on a 992 certainly doesn't look anything like that on a 993 unfortunately. I was at the dealer yesterday and they had a lovely 992 GTS hybrid thingy in Oak Green and that looked much better/more accurate. Apparently they said it was now on the standard colour palette (though I haven't checked if that's true).

Oak Green Neo is on the standard palette but it’s still over £3k. And seems to be a very common choice so I’d not go for it. I’m tempted by Guards Red actually.

Looked 🤌 on their demonstrator. I would never normally go for an Aerokit car but this one had me thinking differently. 160k though...

I think the Aerokit works on this generation now that the RS models have such crazy bolt-ons.

Not a fan of green cars, but that looks mint.

I pretty sure it's a good bit darker than mint. :geek:

More pine, I think. It's a nice colour but when people's GT3 Touring order specs started appearing on the PH thread, virtually every one was Oak Green. It's going to be very common. And nice as it is, it's a bit dull for a sports car. Shade Green works well on the 992.

Tesla due an MOT in a couple of months. Looks like the only servicing recommended is changing the cabin air filters, which hopefully seems to be a DIY job.
Decided to pay off the finance early, which will save me about £650 over the next 15 months.

A DIY job in which you’ll lose all your dignity. Hanging upside down in the drivers footwell, arse spread across the pavement, brake pedal in your face. After a multitude of swearing you’ll eventually get all the clips off only to be met by the dreaded torx screw securing the cabin filter lid. The final boss. Eventually you get it out, swap the filters but now you have to get the torx screw back in. After 10 minutes of trying and fingers very sore you question yourself. What wrong path did you take in life that put you down this road? Why am I being punished like this?
;)
How about not having a sig at all?
