When paying contactless with my phone (or another digital device)

1. I hold my phone as if I am allowing it to take a picture of what's on the screen of the reader.

We can probably extend this to watch etc also, but you do see some fascinating variation in this space.

Top edge is correct for iPhones as that's where the NFC antenna is and it'll work most reliably. Likewise on the terminal it'll be the contactless logo, usually on the top rather than the screen.

Android phones can be all over the place, although middle of the back is pretty common.

I really should set it up, as a back up, but I still carry my car. I know my daughter has set up her card on her phone, so may get her to assist me.
