Someone at my office has bought an MG Cyberster. First time seeing one.

Looking at certain angles in isolation is looks quite nice, but when you step back and see the whole thing, it's an awkward looking car. It's not for me, although I do like the doors.

I don't mind the Cyberster. There's one I pass regularly on my way to work, parked outside a house which has quite a few interesting cars including a TVR 420SEAC.

The thing is, 'bought' is the word I don't understand there. It feels like a car which will only ever be driven by road testers, long term testers, employees of the manufacturer or their friends etc.

Toyota Land Cruiser pick up, it also sounded very much like a V8. I can't recall seeing one in the UK before so was very surprised to see one rumbling past me in Derbyshire.

Looked a lot like this

Was just following an older 6.1 litre Challenger through Glasgow - heading for a curry.

This very one in fact (not my image)
Image

It was a few cars ahead for a bit, and then directly in front of me for a short distance, but no opportunity to do anything. A car fortuitously turning right - prevented from doing so by oncoming traffic - caused us to come to a halt perfectly inside the arch of a bloody Victorian aquaduct tunnel (them fully inside, me with the back end just inside the arch way).

I blipped the Evora’s throttle to request that they did the same. No bite. :(

So I did it again - double blip this time with a few more revs. At this point they reciprocated - it sounded utterly filthy. Perfect. 8-)

I’ve seen one of those, and Renault used one like that as the first U.K. promo car. Seems a bit stupid to me too 😂

I’ve been to Italy quite a lot and visited quite a few cities and regions and never once seen a Ferrari. Or a Lamborghini, for that matter.

Anyway, here’s an old Alfa

Speaking of Alfas, we saw more Tonales in Scotland than I've ever seen in London (a whole seven!). Must be a very popular car.

Saw a new Junior Elletra yesterday, it looked quite nice, very sculpted.

We should probably cut our Tonales more often. :?

The Tonale I'll pass on - the Junior in Veloce spec I actually quite like; and for some reasosn, Alfa just casually dropping in the best and sportiest looking seats they've made in a while into their lowest model! Not sure if they're actually any good, mind.

I visited the British Motor Museum for the first time yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Felt a bit weird at first seeing Fords in with the BMC stuff, but then there were Vauxhalls too and even a mk1 Honda Prelude, so it's a fairly wide spectrum of both British cars and cars with a connection to British carmakers now.

Many cars are prototypes but many are also simply first or last off the line examples. I took a couple of photos of what I assumed was simply a tidy MG Metro Turbo and only on looking at the info sheet did I realise it was the prototype with the tiny straight 6 transverse engine. Sadly the bonnet was closed.

Some special cars there which I've seen before when they launched at the British Motor Show (XJ220 concept with the V12, MG EX-E for instance) and some which I've only seen in magazines like the XJS 4wd twin turbo mule - still working nicely:

Image

Outside there were a couple of ex-Team Sky Tour de France support cars. The XF estate was no longer liveried but this F-Type still looked as it did in 2014. Very cool:

I spotted a few nice cars before going there, at Gilks Garage Cafe in Kineton. Probably 50% bikers there but definitely more relaxed than Caffeine & Machine, and really good breakfasts.

Is this the same XKRS (or not) which appeared in this thread recently? Will have to check back. [ETA: no, it's not - and the bonnet vents are the same as the white one Newt spotted, plus this must be at least a 2014 car so is presumably genuine.] Next to the 996s I unexpectedly found it more appealing than the Porsches:

Image

And my ex-stepson's low ownership tidy Volvo 940, seen early on in Hubnut's Rustival video. I didn't go to Rustival, he did on the Saturday so I was quite pleased he was happy to go to the museum again on the Sunday.

Totally forgot because I didn't take a photo; I spotted a generic-looking hypercar waiting to pull out of a side turning in Wellesbourne and I think it must have been an Aston Martin Valhalla. A bit of a pointless thing because it could have been from any manufacturer. I imagine they're still prototypes currently, since I don't think I've seen a magazine review of a production car without camo.

Went to that museum last year, loved it. My personal favourite was the freelander mule with the maestro van body, they need to go back to mad mules rather than camo wraps
