I bet they even let him push little models of submarines around a table with the world map printed on it while making little whoosh and ping! noises (or humming the soviet anthem to himself)

Is there an official US debt clock ?

This is what I’ve seen before….

https://www.pgpf.org/national-debt-clo ... -VEALw_wcB

But it’s showing the debt coming off quite quickly. I’m curious if this is a genuine one or not as I’ve seen an app which is doing the opposite ?

The UK one is depressing at £5700 extra debt per second so
I’m hoping that’s wrong 😂

Interesting indeed, and on brand for the president of chaos.

This one is equally interesting and along similar lines.

If this is about renewables then good job too.

The fascination with them is ridiculous and it’s making our job harder and the grid less stable.

Whinge moan.

The world is greener than when I was born, sadly that doesn’t create tons of money for big companies so the gravy train of green energy it is. If they actually wanted to do some good, then instead of needing mass infrastructure changes and they want to see less load on the grid, they would invest in local solar on housing and business easing costs for people directly. They don’t want that though, not enough money to be made.

I’ll watch the video at lunch and if it’s not what I think it is, I’ll skulk back into my cave like a moron 😂

(Now watched)
I don’t disagree with quite a few things on that video, it shows how labour heavy renewables are and how low the energy density of the stations is. Pretty much no spinning reserve (the ability to manage frequency with mass) and due to their size, very hard to recycle. For mass use, renewables are just a way to print money imo, for local end user use, they are brilliant as no infrastructure changes are needed at all and you don’t even need to feed back into the grid to see big benefits.

Now Nuclear, that’s a solution.

Doesn’t change my opinion at all. The more we see of renewables the more my job will be needed. We were brought in as they can’t make solar work in the deserts of Australia, they need spinning reserve and reliable power.

The loss of 330,000 jobs ? So jobs that need paying in an industry that is labour heavy per kWh, that’s not efficient and the people paying for that are the end user use

Our power in the UK is linked to gas prices. As we keep seeing how much renewable power is used and everyone does a merry dance about it, does that mean the electricity companies are pocketing all this extra money as renewables is so cheap ? They can charge per kWh or unit but as soon as little gas was used they give us the saving? No. So if the UK was fully on renewables the electricity price will be incredibly cheap, no.

Big data centres are a new source of revenue for us, that’s because it’s essential they have reliable power. If it was so much more expensive to run on gas we wouldn’t be doing all these new projects. This is before you take into account the loss of land and what is done to it over time.

I don’t know if things have moved on but 180watts per square metre was what was touted in the Pilboro. So that’s the absolute maximum it could produce. So around half that on an average day would be very generous. Then half it again as night time happens quite regularly, so 45 watts per square metre on average.

One of my BV20s needs 300 square metres for the engine, generator and basic cooling package. This makes over 12MW continuous, in-interrupted for 1000 hours before a 1 hour service. You never need to change the oil it runs so clean.

13.5MW a day for solar, in summer.

288MW a day for a lean burn gas, no storage required and it adds to grid stability.

Now add in the heat can heat greenhouses, the CO2 can improve plant growth in the greenhouses and you have up to 96% measured efficiency. It’s why every big greenhouse in Holland runs them and makes a ton of money. This is the industry we should be getting behind. One greenhouse in Flushing was producing 36 tons of tomatoes per day and sending them over here. You have all eaten tomatoes grown this way if you have shopped at Tescos, as we look after the engines in the greenhouses.

Localised food growing, minimal transportation costs, less above ground HV infrastructure. It won’t happen though, as all that is spouted is green energy at the actual point the electricity is made, not the total cost.

My mate is an electrician for one of the largest fruit/veg cold storage facilities in the country. A few years ago they gave up on their regular mixture of grid energy and solar and replaced it all with generators. Even back then when fuel prices were going crazy it was much cheaper than electricity from the grid.
How about not having a sig at all?

I’m going to have a stab in the dark and say all the American car themed merchandise available in high street clothing stores and supermarkets is a direct result of the trump tarrifs impacting car sales and manufacturers selling licenses to try and cover a small amount of that shortfall

Yes, America, when Ronald "those monkeys from those African countries - damn them, they're still uncomfortable wearing shoes" Reagan is your tasteful palette cleanser, harking back to better times when America was a more decent place, you know things ain't going so well.

"Trump orders removal of Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook"

No idea if his assertion is true or not (suspect not obvs) but his stated rationale would appear a little ironic? Anyone remember?

Head of the FBI is a bit busy at the minute.

Will see where that goes but if it’s proven then I don’t see how the democrats can recover with anyone currently nvved staying ?

Whether you like or hate what Trump is doing, having it all one sided never ends well so a strong opposition is needed.

Trump decides on a whim he’d like to go to the Tennis final.

Causes chaos - extra security for fans. Final delayed will probably start with half full arena. People missing it etc.
