I liked it.

Sums this shit hole right up.

A portfolio with a firm that doesn't have charges for monthly investments is worth looking at. Ii don't charge, div reinvestment is free for example.

I just saw this. As a piece of satire it really is a great bit of work.

I am concerned by the fact that pretty much all the comments were talking about how it shouldn't have been banned and that it was banned because there was too much truth in it! You have to be pretty thick to think that an an ad that's telling you your life is shit so take what little you've got and gamble it might not be seen as a good idea.

It could just as well have been a PaddyPower ad... it would have got banned just the same (only with much more furore about how disgraceful it was from a gambling company).:)

It certainly reminded me of you 😂

Don’t know how you can be such an optimist about your ‘investments’ while being such a pessimist about the real world you live in. Genuinely, you’re getting on now - cash out if you’re in profit, invest in something less risky.

Thank you Simon. My investments are mainly not crypto as that really is gambling.

I'm pretty sure you're happy with the Labour government bending you over and really aren't moving your money away from their grasp.

Gambling. Define it. You are encouraged in this country to invest in your future. The tax breaks for pensions are attractive yet the fees and tax also can be not good. So you put a pot in your pension for time thinking you can have 25 percent tax free and you bought a house on the basis that would settle the mortgage on your house. Then the rules change and your 250k tax free then suddenly becomes 100k. Who is gambling? The law changes all the time and you can only make the best way forward knowing they will ruin your plans    Not even mentioning the raising of ages. If anything is gambling in the UK its putting all your wealth into a pension.

Apparently it's "the activity of betting money, for example in a game or on a horse race".

But that's not really my point. It's a volatile market, and certainly there's money to be made and lost in equal measure potentially at least to some degree helped by knowing what you're doing.

I get your point and agree to some extent that there is no 100% certainty on any kind of investment (or even lack of in truth), but there are more protections in most of the more conventional forms and also usually more time to react. The idea that you can advertise the suggestion a given individual going to get a better life by investing in crypto is pretty negligent given the speed work which they could fail.

This is probably from the 1950s.

Gambling is trading, or putting your funds into a house, a market view, a company. It's all a gamble.

Can you predict anything? If you can, you will be very wealthy and not have to sell courses online to mugs

On subject tho my gambling pot is only up 110 percent, my bank account with far more money in is up nowhere as near.

Nothing is certain, but an idiot is going to lose everything much faster with crypto. Good for you for doing well out of it.

I don't think the ad would be any more appropriate for a property investment company or pension broker either, but certainly not crypto.

Oh my god, if only you'd said that! We wouldn't have needed a 78 page thread with you shilling them if you said you weren't really investing in them

Thanks for the tip, I’ve just bought some as they have a nice dividend too.

I sold consolidated airlines as I was 40% up on them but they’ve stagnated a bit since.
