Friends are the best people for rubbing it in.

Have to wonder if x 2 from here is a possibility.

Crypto back down.

Retirement on hold 😁

On a car related note how much are Lloyds going to get raped for the car finance debacle?

Which app are you guys using for stocks & shares? Within ISA?

Taking stock of my financial position and am a little behind where I want to be.

We have a trading 212 account for the boys and I just use my Barclays app and opened a Sharesave account.

I setup a Trading 212 account for a cash ISA last year, they had good rates. They're pushing me hard for a S&S ISA though

Intelligent Investor though I do have some shares with Fidelity.

Keeping the fees down is key.

I was with share.com who were then taken over by Interactive Investor. II are ok but I think I preferred share.com, maybe it was because I'd been with them for so long and had got used to how they operate. Earlier this year I sold everything, not a life changing amount but it has allowed me to retire a couple of years early.

I was a total amateur at it all though and I'm still convinced a large amount of the returns are down to luck :)

I use Vanguard for S&S ISA and Trading212 for cash.

I keep meaning to switch my S&S ISA to Trading212 as the last time I looked the fees for an indentical fund were less than Vanguard were charging. JIC as per, keep the fees down, they really eat into long term gains.

Thanks all, dipping my toes with T212, just small beer while I get a feel for it.

I've got two S&S ISAs, one with Hargreaves Landsdown (which I buy into funds with) and one with T212 (which I take slightly ill advised gambles on biotech shares with).

Still quite new at it all though.

212 is ok I think for shares. Buy BP as that's on the up 💯

They have a cfd demo account if you really want to gamble buying or selling with leverage. See what you can do with 5k. It's not in an ISA so will be taxed should you use real money.

Ethereum ☝️ at last

What happened to ETH guys? I always told myself I'd sell mine at £3k, and it's got there a couple of times but quickly dropped back before I acted. Any reason to believe this time is different?

Jobbo is of course correct re fees. I've been with HL for a long time and have no idea of they're still competitive on fees TBH. I only use for funds these days FWIW, but I'm sure they're not even in that case.

I buy monthly and am not selling. Do the same when it drops again and you'll be up eventually 👌

Edit I did say buy at 1000 but got ridiculed 😂

Main reason it's up are funds buying it for investment vehicles for pensions etc

My ReSEarch suggests that the fees seem to vary quite a bit from ETF to ETF. Buying shares through HL seems far more spenny than through T212, unless you are buying big numbers in one go.

I've managed 18% growth over the last month on my shares in Oxford Nanopore, as ever wishing I had bought sooner and more.
The unfortunate side effect is that it has caused me to optimistically have a go at a few other biotechs which have done far less well (as in +/- 1% over a month ... still that's no great loss).
