I suppose we can only go on present time and history. BTC/ ETH are certainly examples you will be wrong on. Xrp maybe too.

I still don't see the real world use for this in replacing money unless you're a criminal. A few months ago I went to cash out my money from Binance. It wasn't possible directly because Binance are no longer regulated in the UK. Thus I had to used a regulated company so I had to do it via Coinbase.
I recall having to convert my cryptoshite into another form of cryptoshite so it would be compatible. Then having sent it from the Binance wallet to the Coinbase one took longer than a regular bank transfer. About 10 minutes. However I couldn't access the crypto yet. First I had to fill in a form saying who the crypto was from. I assume that's their money laundering checks. Then they check everything to verify and that took a solid hour before I could access the crypto. At this point its still sat in Coinbase as I'd had enough.
Oh and every time you transfer money you do this fucking stupid camera selfie video where it asks you to look around to verify...
How the fuck is this convenient.
How about not having a sig at all?

I still don’t see how/why it would ever be used as a currency. It will always be referred back to whatever local currency it is you’re spending it in. It’s way too unstable to be able to understand its value on its own. It’s basically a commodity, and people don’t use commodities to buy their every day purchases.

A day trader friend of mine who lives incredibly well from it.

He makes a far better living than me from trading a few big coins and fair play to him, he seems to understand it really well.

Like Mito says, it can be a pain to trade/ sell etc but I only do so maybe once every 6 months and I’m a technology Luddite.

Thats not “using” them, that’s trading them. He’s not buying his lunch with them

I think he’s bought a few things with them but yeah he just trades them.

You either use it to make money or you don’t.

We’ll have to see what Broccers meant by his comment “ The day these coins are going to be used is getting nearer and nearer.”

i took it to being “used for normal transactions.”

XRP is involved in making transactions super fast, faster than Mastercard etc and far cheaper. It’s complex banking stuff but I just know fast is good and leave it there.

People have bought and sold houses with Etherium.

It’s just another way to make money. Currently just used up my tax allowance by buying and selling with the dips and rises to make sure I haven’t lost any money, which is something I didn’t used to do. Just a shame they reduced it to a paltry £3k.

I could keep doing it but I’m averse to giving anything to the taxman I don’t have to 😂

Not bad for essentially free money though.

Anyone who bought a house using Etherium either didn’t do it in England or Wales, or will soon be getting an NCA knock on the door. Impossible to satisfy anti-money laundering requirements for a transaction in crypto. Unless of course Dave means he converted it into GBP first.

It was somewhere in America, I think it was an estate agent offering it. How they do it I have no idea but it wasn’t a single case. The famous one of the guy buying a Pizza for 2500 Bitcoin or thereabouts.

It’s a tradeable thing.

I’ve lost more on a genuine LSE tradeable share than I have on Crypto.

An example of the future use. I'm not sure why people who don't believe in something demand they are educated in a subject they hope fails. Move on to something you like 😂😁
