Oh, and 'reigniting', 'LOL'.
As much as I hate the Cybertruck, unless you can see a picture just as it crashed there is no way to know if the door was even openable by the person. It’s more of an electric fires burn bloody hot article more than an anti-cybertruck article.

I feel dirty now saying that 😂

I noticed the new transits have electric door releases for the rear door now too, the second door. A strange decision but I’m guessing it’s just cheaper. Much like the autopilot deaths in the S, it’s not much of an advert for Tesla in general.

Quite a few modern / electric cars now have flush handles don’t they? So not really a specific Tesla issue.

I still think having an electronic only release for a main passenger escape route is a bit silly.

Sure, doors do jam in accidents, but you stand more chance of a bystander yanking it open if there’s a physical handle to grab and pull on linked to the latch by a linkage or cable than a button and electronic popper.

It is astonishing how much they seem to get away with.
It's fucking awful. Given how litigious the yanks are, how on earth have they not been sued into the weeds?
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

They must be really in the shit. My dad says he has been getting voicemails from Tesla that they’ll sell him a new Model 3 performance and match the spec of the current car for free and then take another £3k of list price. So that’ll be red paint, white interior, FSD. So £13k total.

But who wants a Tesla anymore. Even putting aside Musk the competition is so much better in 2025.

Agree on that, even just aesthetically, I was looking at a Tesla the other day thinking how the styling looks like a previous generation of electric cars that's been overtaken with the latest EVs from other brands.

The company seems to have no future beyond gimmicks like their self driving taxi and robots. Not even an actual new car lineup.
This is the NEW MODEL X

What’s the point.

Don’t Tesla still have a massive advantage with their charging network though if you actually want to use the car out and about or for longer journeys?

All the new Tesla chargers have a regular terminal so any car can plug in. Their older style ones are a faff as some are Tesla only and if they do accept other cars you need to use an app to get them to work. From the quantity of new chargers and third party brands I wouldn't say having a non Tesla EV is an issue anymore. Tesla still has the cheapest electricity though and that price is only for Teslas but offset by them having the worst depreciation (unless you've actually bought a Taycan...)

I mean, that's great and all, but did you see that he's basically made everyone hate Grok now?

It's banging out wild antisemetic conspiracy theories about the jews running the media (the left hate it), it's blaming trump for deaths caused by cuts to the weather forecasting services that haven't even happened (MAGA hate it), and it's also responding in first person "as Musk" about allegations that Musk is a nonce, which definitely isn't a sign that musk entered his desired response directly into the system, but presumably in the wrong manner.

https://gizmodo.com/elon-musks-upgraded ... 2000624724

Also, Musk launched a political party.

Yes, that's definitely not a dogwhistle that the party is for the whites

Musk isn't a very clever person. Wasn't he supposed to be spending way more time at Tesla lately?

It doesn’t matter. He’ll still get richer and millions of people will still masturbate with enthusiasm every time they hear his name and their stock price will continue to rise.

LOL Grok has gone full Nazi

Archive link because guess what, the original screenshotted above got deleted:

Can't find an archive for the second tweet, but absolutely no reason to doubt it's authenticity.

Oh, it's OK, Grok verified it itself

Quick edit rather than bumping:

Also...

I predict Tesla stocks to increase 10% on this.

It's not just xAI though

https://www.theregister.com/2025/07/14/pentagon_ai/
The Pentagon's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) today announced contracts with Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and xAI to help it use artificial intelligence for a multitude of military purposes - each with a $200 million ceiling.

The four firms contracted for the work are all behind AI models the DoD believes have game-changing defense applications. The Pentagon appears particularly eager to pursue agentic AI, mentioning in the announcement that it hopes to use the skills of AI experts at the four firms "to develop agentic AI workflows across a variety of mission areas."
And likely decided formally before Grok went all hitler on everyone, although even then it's bonkers they went with it given how demonstrably easy it is for it's inputs to be hijacked and it's output to be skewed. But then the DoD would currently probably enjoy that.

Anyone seen the clips of the robotaxis, which can only run on prescribed routes in a ring fenced area with invited riders and a Tesla chaperone, have been seen driving in convoy with LiDAR stuck on tripods on the roof 😄

Is the LiDAR being used to map the roads/surroundings as opposed to being used as sensors for FSD (to augment the cameras)?
