How do they constantly manage to make it shitter.
"You may also like"
"Advert"
Dynamic scrolling or whatever it's called.
Search for a model, and of the first 12 results, only 6 (!) are of the car I filtered by. 2 are adverts, 4 are "You may also like"
So you try and scroll for more, but if you go back up, it changes the order of the advert/recommended cars completely fucking it all up so you lose track of what you've seen and not seen.
I get the adverts, but for the love of god let me turn off suggestions.

Re: Autotrader
I find the whole pop out filter & sort system really annoying as well. I used to like when it was a side panel. It does feel like they make changes just for the sake of making the website different.

Lots of unhappy dealers as they continue to turn the screw.Rich B wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 1:28 pm Have you seen how much money they make though? £600m revenue and £375m of it profit!
Re: Autotrader
Yes the recent changes to the filter system are a big step back to compared to the old style side panel.
Re: Autotrader
It’s not just the models etc that are annoying
I’ve been looking for a friend who’s after something for around 3k (nothing flash, just needs to not be a shed)
Have you considered this? It’s a £12,000 bmw. No I’ve not considered that because he’s only got £3000 to spend you dumb fucks

Re: Autotrader
It’s been like that for years, every 4th ad a sponsored one for something completely irrelevant to the filters you’ve set.

Amen - it was so much easier to use. Isn’t there some UI mantra about reducing the number of clicks? They increased it.Brannen wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 1:13 pm I find the whole pop out filter & sort system really annoying as well. I used to like when it was a side panel. Re: Autotrader
I remember when Autotrader was print only and when you placed an ad, a bloke would come out and take photos of your car.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

I always thought that would be a great job! (When I was 18).Delphi wrote: Fri Jul 18, 2025 10:51 am I remember when Autotrader was print only and when you placed an ad, a bloke would come out and take photos of your car.
I had noticed that using the "30 miles from me" now includes supermarket cars that will deliver to you. I couldn't work out how to just do local garages for local people.
