Sounds like a a bit of a farce but I’d have phoned it in too. Whether I’d have then followed for that distance I’m not so sure tbh.

Have phoned in a few times last couple of years. Folks parked up in iffy locations or broken down around blind bends, that sort of thing. I’ve often wondered whether anybody actually shows up.

I have very little respect for the police but Kudos for what you tried to do. It just re-affirms my opinion though in the way it ended.

The a14 westbound is shut in the evenings at the moment just west of Bury, and the official diversion is a143 a140, although anyone with a braincell or not in an hgv would find a much shorter alternative route.

I’d send them an invoice for your mileage, at recommended reimbursement rates, which I think is still 45p a mile

So your 60 miles detour plus 58 miles home is 118 miles, so a request for £53.10p due to incompetence is fair I’d say

When I was taxiing, I followed an obviously drunk driver and c alled it in, The caught the guy at his home, and he said his wife had been driving and was not a good driver. I called 101 as it didn't seem to be an emergency so the call cost sevral thousand pounds which pissed me off. I then had to take a day off to go to court as a witenss, I said to the PF, that I could not see who was driving the car so it was utterly pointless as all I could confirm was the car. Right enough, waited from 8.30am in the witness room, witness box or whatever it was for about 30 seconds, defency lawyer "could you see the driver" Me "no" that was it, never heard what happened about the guy but the threatening letters you get to turn up as a witness is piss poor.

Sounds like inept CPS rather than a police issue.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on
