Saw the video yesterday and just wondered if it was too simplistic?

It seems like such a simple, basic idea - I'm wondering why everyone doesn't do this already?

It's basic physics, doesn't require complex engineering or materials, it's obvious by looking at the car etc

If McLaren have started this suspension design since the beginning of this year then how come they had the tyre temperatures under control since the middle of last year?

I don’t think this is the big advantage.
The Mercedes has adjustable suspension mounting points for anti dive optimisation since last year. And that car struggles more than anyone else in hot weather.

I don’t know where Max pulled that qualifying lap out of but wow. Deserves to win after that. Looked like it was going to be 3 British drivers in the top 4 at one point. Superb effort from Bearman to qualify a genuine 8th in the haas. Demoted to 18th for a penalty though.

If the weather there is anything like it is here in Suffolk at the moment it could be a spicy race! Quite looking forward to seeing it live. Hopefully they won’t run it under a safety car for 20 laps then have everyone come in for slicks a lap after proper racing starts….

Could be pretty tricky for the RB though as he’s gone slippery for straight line advantage. May have been a genius move in dry conditions, but rather tricky in wet / changeable ones.

Pissing it down right now in Silverstone - hoping it stays wet for the race although I guess that means Max will run away with it. But he’s got the talent.

Would actually really like to see Hamilton win. I know it’s not very likely, and even if he did make it to the front the Ferrari strategists would throw it in the bin, it would still be cool to see.

Oscars penalty seems very harsh, still finished 7 seconds behind. Would have been pretty tight between the two at the end without it.

Oscar pulled a big gap very early on which was definitely impressive. Norris seemed happier on slicks at the end. Admittedly the track had had another lap to dry, Oscar was driving angry and maybe overdriving it a bit.

Seems the right call for maclaren not to swap positions at the end.

First time we’ve seen Oscar suggest he might one day lose his cool, was expecting a similar outcome to GR in Canada but obviously the stewards have access to telemetry.

It was pretty stupid from Oscar but I feel like Max has done the same many times and got away with it. Perhaps being a wet race it was more frowned upon.

When watching live I also thought the penalty was really harsh, but he apparently braked hard from 218kph to 52kph.

There was a point before Oscar served his penalty where Lando reeled him in very close to DRS as well, if the penalty wasn't there we may have seen a battle at that point too but no point in Lando attacking at that point. Seemed like the pace ebbed and flowed between them.

Amazing how we've had loads of great weather throughout Spring and early Summer (in the East of England, at least), then it decides to intermittently bucket it down on the day of the British GP!

Watched it live, enjoyed it all apart from the numerous VSC and SC periods.

You could tell how tough it was out there, with all the rookies DNF'ing apart from Bearman.

It was great to see Hulkenberg finally get a podium. I didn't understand why Haas sighed him last year, seemed too old and underperforming. Then I didn't understand why he moved to Sauber, as they were doing crap (4pts in 2024)...he's certainly been outperforming the car and I'm happy that he's proved me wrong!

Hulks a safe pair of hands, pretty consistent, quick enough without being too crashy. Perfect driver for midfield teams that need regular points

Fantastic day today and a really great race. I think it was wetter in real life that it appeared on TV.



Which in turn ended up making it an even more expensive day… turns out my backpack cleverly let water in but not out resulting in my telephoto lens getting a soaking. Expect that’s dead…



Seats in luffield had a great view. Disappointed not to see Lewis on the podium but hard to argue with Hulk getting a chance to stand up there plus a Lando victory. Absolutely shattered now.

Oscars penalty still feels harsh, but the data shows a significant deceleration, definitely wasn’t just easing up to increase the gap to the safety car. Given the poor visibility and the way the rest of the pack closed up, they weren’t expecting it either.

Anyone else pointlessly bugged by the fact that the full wet tyre is a waste of the rubber it's made from? We'll probably never see it once all season. If it's too wet for inters then it's a SC or red flag.
