Sure:

I’ve not really needed to do any looking after, it’s been completely reliable. I replaced the heater blower fan and that’s about it. Fresh MOT a couple of weeks ago with just one advisory for rear brake pads.
There’s a scrape on the ns doors though. That’s the only real downer.

Laughably Porsche Sidcup told me they've just been bought out by Porsche Retail Group (i.e. the factory), which have proceeded to rip out all their servers and systems so the earliest they can fit me in would be about a month's timeMito Man wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:36 am I’ve briefly looked at the warranty. Really you need the tyre fitted by a Porsche authorised service centre too otherwise it’s a “third party” and thus nothing may be covered.

The wheels need to be refurb'd as well so the car is going to Lepsons in Gillingham which they themselves use.
Re: Your fleet running reports
What you going for in terms of finish? Evora wheels were last refurbed 4+ years ago, but are already looking a bit scruffy. I'm seriously tempted to go bronze this time.....GG. wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 8:53 am

Re: Your fleet running reports
That is some spec. Do you know if it was a BMW UK or dealer demo car originally? It's pretty early for an F10.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 8:41 am Sure:

I don't know if I'm going to keep it forever (likely will move house to somewhere with a drive in the middle of next year which would open up more options) so I'm going to be boring and keep it as standard.integrale_evo wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 9:41 amYeah, please don’t do that.mik wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 9:01 amWhat you going for in terms of finish? I was tempted by going Weiss Gold (not Aurum or Bronze), as shown below on the same car. They look good but I'm not 100% convinced it works as well on the non-GT3 wheels.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Not sure. It appears to have every "tech" feature available with the F10 launch so it does sound like a demo car, but I'm second owner and the first owner was a real person who had it from new until last year, it wasn't pre-registered by BMW and actively used as a demo car.Jobbo wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 9:05 am That is some spec. Re: Your fleet running reports
I’d love to have a reason to purchase that. A lot of car for the £

Similarly, looks a lovely thing to waft around in. Will you take my Fabia in part-ex?

SE spec (best sized wheels for local potholes and speed bumps) with the adaptive suspension is my cup of tea - shame its not an estate (for the dog) or I would consider as we are looking for an auto (with no rush) due to declining health.

You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Do the headrests go far enough back?

Worst for resale though - everyone wants a sport.NGRhodes wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:28 pm SE spec (best sized wheels for local potholes and speed bumps) with the adaptive suspension is my cup of tea - shame its not an estate (for the dog) or I would consider as we are looking for an auto (with no rush) due to declining health.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Yeah, they'd be biting his hand off at £4k if it was an MSport. Though IIRC they only came as an SE in 2010 anyway.Rich B wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:48 pmWorst for resale though - everyone wants a sport.NGRhodes wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:28 pm SE spec (best sized wheels for local potholes and speed bumps) with the adaptive suspension is my cup of tea - shame its not an estate (for the dog) or I would consider as we are looking for an auto (with no rush) due to declining health.

Re: Your fleet running reports
My mrs has declared that she misses her e46 touring.
I didn’t miss the amount of oil I had to buy for / put in it, or the sea of various shades and finishes of beige inside.
I have never owned an e46 M3, and would quite like one. I guess a sensible compromise would be to add building an e46 M3 touring to the list (of projects I may never complete)
Really though, we already have a 2,3,4 and 5 door bmw, so a cabrio would probably be a better choice.

If you don't think a VFR600-thingy is interesting why would you consider it in P/X?Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 8:41 am Sure:

Re: Your fleet running reports
I really liked my E46 Compact, I'd have another if the suitable situation occurred. If your mrs misses her E46, get the missus an E46 M3 Convertible. I doubt the forum council would vote against thisintegrale_evo wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 2:32 pm My mrs has declared that she misses her e46 touring.

Just my deliberate turn of phraseDeskJockey wrote: Fri Jun 06, 2025 2:37 pm If you don't think a VFR600-thingy is interesting why would you consider it in P/X?![]()

Q: What do you want for dinner ?
A: Something nice for a change.
Switch interesting/nice and it's basically the same joke. I've fancied a VFR800 pretty much since they came out and I sat on one at a bike show in 2002/2003. It just fitted me really really well. It just wasn't affordable at the time. And as it's a bike that's all-round-very-competent-but-not-an-exciting-race-bike (I'm sure tim will confirm) the joke seemed to fit.

Re: Your fleet running reports
And I did that thing again. Moaning about ebay idiots then it suddenly sells painlessly
But we do have a little hilarity to the whole event. Here we go....
Previous advert expired on Monday, I relisted on Wednesday, today I got a message from someone via the original advert asking if it sold. I thought "oh jeez, here we go" and sent a very short message that I'd relisted. They replied that they want it, and they'll come down from Loughborough (about 130 miles away) straight away. Any kind of "deal now" is usually attached to a lowball offer so I emphasised the "no offers" and said OK. True to their word they turned up about 4pm, having twice given me updated ETAs. Seemed sensible & serious.
An absolutely lovely chap, a professional musician & NCG, and his equally lovely mate who is a CG and had steered him to the advert. I was mildly concerned that they turned up in a MINI when the deal also included a pair of front seats & a set of wheels but - not my problem eh ?
They looked it over & went for a test drive. CG clearly quite excited and NCG just following his lead. CG & I bonded over MINIs and chatted about head gaskets & timing chains. I showed him pics of the suspension work I did to ours recently. Then the bombshell. Do the back seats fold down ? NCG is a pianist / vocalist and needs to get a full sized keyboard in the boot. Early F10s do not have folding seats
CG has had E60s before and they have folding seats. I think F10s only got folding seats with the LCI. Genuine oversight on their part and I could see a certain amount of stress that CG had brought NCG on a 5 hour road trip that might have been a huge mistake
They asked for a tape measure and I left them to it
The folding seats are not easily retrofittable.
After a while on their own they came back and said they'll still take it. Bank transfer done. CG managed to get the spare seats (the comfort seats that I'd taken out and was going to sell separately) into the back of his MINI. Impressive ! Spare wheels went in the BMW two in the boot & two on the back seat.
So a small win today, but one of my biggest losses overall, relatively. I paid £5k under a year ago and sold for £3k. The market does seem bad right now but I'd also purchased in a hurry, and from a dealer. That's the worst thing to do. 40% loss in 11 months
Ho hum. I have no need for it and it's not going to gain value, while I pay for tax, insurance, etc., so best let it go. I'm just glad it went to a nice normal person not one of those ebay best offer twats.
