Fuck me. Do not want. As I was discussing with Mike, cars are to be used. When I get home tomorrow I’ll have done that many in a week 😄

A lot of the stuff on CC has crap service records.
This M6 is particularly odd though:
https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/200 ... vertible-3
10/04/2008 - Pre-delivery
20/05/2008 - 1,183 miles
04/04/2010 - 22,184 miles (Brake fluid only)
26/10/2012 - 30,011 miles
10/03/2015 - 48,589 miles
14/10/2015 - 55,824 miles (Brake fluid only)
04/07/2019 - 86,261 miles (Brake fluid only)
13/04/2022 - 99,148 miles (Unconfirmed)
31/01/2023 - 108,132 miles

51,000 miles and 7 years between an oil change there. But they changed the brake fluid!
RIP rod bearings.

There were very few GT2 and Turbo S cars made so if you wanted a 993 with a gaping hole in the rear wing you paid up. They were never 50k.

Well at least they can afford the likely rebuild the engine probably wants to replace all the gaskets and seals that have given up the ghost from doing 27,000 miles, then fuck all for nearly 20 years.

Obviously, would love a car but actually just a visit would be great!

I think Mate Rimac would be my “alive” invite to dinner with most interesting people..

Going to Nottingham at the weekend to view a 760Li. Is there anything good around there? Peak District looks close enough but anything decent closer?

The only Hooters restaurant in the UK was in Nottingham. Now there’s one in Liverpool too.

Burger King tends to be the traditional meal
Think I’ll try to detour to Ladybower.

Only been once in Des Moines in Iowa - thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Horrible Mahooosively greasy food and teenage waitress hanging around your table, flirting for tips.

I felt dirty afterwards - best avoided

Burger King? That's so 2024. We're living in the future up this way. Must be a crowd-funded hipster joint, but I wish them all the best.

That's blown my mind.

I remember a Wimpy in Inverness when I was about 8 years old and haven't seen one since.

There's one in Addlestone along the road from the office I used to work in. Only went in once.

I will never forget though, I did a weekend stock check in a book shop in 35 ish years ago. The guy who I was paired up with couldn't stop talking, all day, about the fact that his mum worked in Wimpy and the cheap food that he got. I was quite impressed how he had literally nothing else to talk about.

There's a lovely Wimpy chalet on the edge of Cannock Chase, just outside Stafford. The people there are so friendly and the food is probably cooked with more care than any other Wimpy. Highly recommended if you are ever in the area. Order an original quarterpounder with cheese, with a bender put in it (now called a Bendy but it's a bender, it'll always be a bender). The fries are always lovely and fresh there too.

The other one I love is in Barnstaple. My stepdaughter did a drawing when she was about 8 and they put it on the wall. It was still there when I last visited. She's 23 this year. If anyone visits Barnstaple Wimpy could you take a photo?

I've never been to a Wimpy

The old décor reminds me of Clock, don't know if that chain ever made it to the UK.
