Lotus Drivers Club (of which I am still not a member) meeting again today - with a twist as
@scotta had agreed with the organiser to open the invite to Alpine owners (Scotchish Alpine facebook group? Not sure - I'm sure
someone will be along at some point to advise).
Mine beside a launch-edition NA version.
His PPF was emphatically whiter than mine, but he's only had it 7 months or something so had no idea if the PPF had been replaced (suspect yes). After seeing it beside mine he's going to get the lower sills painted/vynil'd black.
Lovely V8 Esprit. Sounded great.
This is owned by the guy who had the immaculate Clio WIlly at the last meeting. It also looked fabulous. He reckoned the paint needed some work, but I couldn't see it.
360 interloper. (Also - Caterham had was a 2.3 with different cams, pushing 320bhp. Yikes).
Wads of space in there to work on it as needed.
Lovely imported NSX. Unfortunately no white socks or loafers were required as it was an auto, but lovely condition. Surprisingly large boot on it. Did not check for froot.
The modern Alpinos. All had the sports seats which are height-adjustable via bolts only. One car on the highest setting, another on the lowest, and one had the
passenger seat on the middle setting. Cue owners (plus someone considering an A110, and - erm - me) jumping between cars to compare....
Standard 80's GTA Turbo - shot taken mainly for comparison
With this - an homage to the very limited Le Mans versions. Check those pumped arches.
Unfortunately the owner reversed into his spot with it gargling and producing quite a lot of smoke from the exhaust. That wasn't normal..... it wasn't doing it when filled up just before he arrived....hang on...... bollocks. Call dude to pump the diesel out.....

Luckily I think the diesel had
just got to the engine as he pulled in, so I can't imagine there is anything other than minor inconvenience to deal with
