I don't know enough to comment on his life but RIP.

edit

Hang on... Can we wait for 3 days before we get carried away given that he died at Easter?

JD Vance did a Truss, it would seem. Pope met him, saw what had become of humanity, and just fuckin' died.

I watched a documentary about his early life - fascinating and tough start in the world. He seemed like he cared and wanted to do things differently which isn't always a given.

The Aunts and Uncles back home are beside themselves - candles lit etc.

Funny, we watched Conclave on Friday. My guess is the hierarchy will say "Enough change" and select a safe pair of Italian hands...

Not sure. He's appointed a lot of cardinals from outside Europe, so you'd think they'd want to continue what he started.

Separately I didn't realise that once cardinals hit 80 years they can't vote in the conclave.

Well I called that wrong… 😂

Similar in views to Pope Francis by all accounts but perhaps a little less
