Inspired by Smith & Sniff’s podcast a couple of weeks ago, I spotted the old Top Gear creations at the Grampian Transport Museum yesterday. Full folder here:

I seem to have a habit of spotting white cars at the moment.

Ooh, I’d not appreciated that as I looked at Mike’s car - they do work very well. I’m not sure they’re at all necessary because the amount of attention it attracts is amazing and the stickers have nothing to do with that. All positive too. Did I mention I want one?

Ah, so it was Mike!

It's weird, given he spent so much time up in my neck of the woods, I don't think I've ever met him. Have we met @Ascender ? I'm sure if we had I'd remember us swapping tales about having scotch pies at kicking out time from Skindandis....!

Morning!

Thanks @Jobbo for coming so far north, was great to finally meet someone from the forum. Turns out I've been an antisocial bugger over the years.

Well done again on the MX5, I have proper love for that car now 8-)

I think we showed yesterday that if you are coming this far north, have a think about what roads you want to drive as there's some better (and certainly quieter) options than just following the NC500 all the way.

Have a great rest of the trip and say hi to @mik.

911s really have got bloody big... I saw a 1960-something 911 the day before and it looked absolutely tiny in comparison.

The sign of a good day out...

I don't think we have! I was away from Thurso by the time the forum started and our paths have never crossed.

Very weird being back yesterday and with Jobbo too. Surreal

I filled up in Durness this morning, have been very fortunate with the traffic so was able to drive properly and have done about 31mpg today. Very efficient those 911s for the performance!

Spotted today in Oban: two A110s in identical spec apart from one fundamental thing. I spotted the first as I drove in, dark blue with brown leather comfort seats with a Scottish reg. A bit staid, nowhere near as nice as Scott’s - hence I didn’t take a photo.

Round the corner I found another in dark blue with brown comfort seats but LHD. So I did take a photo. Seems they are pretty rare but when you find one, there’s usually another round the corner 😂

An electric blue F-Type Project 7 convertible pulled up alongside me on a roundabout. Not a subtle looking thing.

Is that Navy blue Alpine simular to the Navy blue on a new Renault 5, or the Clio Williams Blue, or the Dacia Duster Navy blue?

I quite like that blue on the Alpine.

Don’t think I’ve seen an A110 in the white that Scott has yet.

That's Abyss Blue. Which if I ever get to a position to be able to buy one, will be the colour I'd prefer. With tan seats.
