just get tubes. tubeless is a faff and does offer much/any benefit unless you’re ridding through thorn infested forests.

When my colleagues came to Ironbridge and we all went riding. It cemented in my head 2 things, a single front chainring was a good choice and tubeless tyres are wank.

I wasn't sure if you meant that or were trolling. I haven't bothered switching to tubeless, and if I did I'd probably keep a spare new tube under my saddle just in case I got a rip in the tyre anyway.

Thorns are a bit of a hazard at the moment; the hedges were all trimmed at the end of Feb and the thorny cut-off bits haven't yet fully dispersed.

ive tried tubeless on several bikes, they’re massively more hassle than tubes in my experience.

I haven’t ever bothered to try tubeless. Got the bits but not the enthusiasm.

Cheers. I'll order some inner tubes and fit them. Not sure how much fun it'll be cleaning all the sealant out.

Fixed it today. Odd one really, it was on the inside, against the rim. Normally you’d say spoke but the spokes are sealed in.

I guess a stone must have gotten in…

Anyway - quick 10 miles along the canal shook off the cobwebs

For reasons (I'm a numpty that forgot to check the valve type) I've got three still-in-box-never-used Slime Extra Strong Self-sealing 700c X 35-43 Schrader Valve inner tubes that needs a new home. Had them for too long to return them. Yours for the cost of postage donated to a charity.

I spent 5 days riding in Rotorua last week. First time back since living down there last winter. The place is absolute bliss. We were there with a family with two young boys so much of the riding was on the more accessible end, but I had an absolute riot riding with the young lads and their dad. The eldest boy's fave track is a small 2km loop which is smooth hardpacked trail with almost endless whoops and mini jumps and just following him at his speed was a reminder about youthful abandon. Heaps of fun.

I took him on my fave grade 2 uphill, grade 3 downhill loop one of the days and the smile on his face at the end of about 25mins of descending was worth the entire trip.

Also really good to get back out on my bike properly. Through a combination of it needing work, arranging a towball and buying a bike rack, it had been a while. New rear mudguard on the Levo from Central Coast Bikes in the US worked well at keeping shit out of the linkage. New Thule bike rack did a great 700km round trip without fault, though it did take me a little while to trust it watching two ebikes bounce a bit in the rear view mirror.

Bought a new bike

It’s a Giant Talon e+, and other than a battery and motor it’s nothing particularly fancy- as a first taste of e bikes it’s a weird feeling but it’s a great help for a fat lad plan is to try and gain a bit of fitness- use it to ride the couple of miles to and from work for a couple of weeks and start expanding ride lengths

That looks rather nice. I have a riding friend who wants to get an eMTB - but he isn’t going to be spending very much and I’ve no idea what he can get with mid-motor for £2k or so. I suspect that was a fair bit more than £2k.

My mates wanting to sell his old bike, he’s got ms so won’t be able to use it ever again- trouble is we’ve no idea what we should be asking for it? Anyone have any idea how much this is worth?
