We watched it all a few years ago, the first couple of seasons still stand up and there are some interesting bits later on but I checked out for most of the later series and came back for the finale as I'd never seen it before.

Also enjoying Bodyguard. Only seen first two episodes so far (I just about avoided the spoiler on the previous page of this thread).

Just finished season 2 of Westworld

🤯🤯🤯 Would best explain where my head is at 🤣
Wasn't expecting the extra stuff after the credits either and that didn't do anything for my befuddlement.

Gave up on Bodyguard after 15mins. Felt far too much like I was just watching Line of Duty again.

Black Earth Rising though...wow. Difficult and interesting subject matter to deal with. Really enjoyed the first episode.

Killing Eve Another stunner, based on the 1st episode. Also very dark, but funny as well. Great cast with Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Kim Bodnia.

Ozark Season Two

Very good indeed but bloody hell - Breaking Bad levels of heavy-going. Three episodes to go and I'm quite looking forward to it being over!

I haven’t watched Line of Duty but The Bodyguard has been brilliant. I think you’re missing out. I don’t think the opener is entirely representative of the rest of it. Definitely not your run of the mill police procedural.

Excellent, I'll start this one after Bodyguard finishes. Or maybe I"ll watch the Jack Ryan series first. One can only watch so much TV. Must be due another Homeland series soon? And a new series of Mr Robot would be welcomed.

I have the last one to watch. There's a lot to wrap up in one episode!

I'm 3 episodes into Vanity Fair and really enjoying it. Thackery really did make wonderful characters that are deeply flawed. Also, Michael Palin appears to have lost his picture of Dorian Grey and now looks very old.

I've also watched the first episode of Bodyguard. It has promise but I need some practice with David Budd's accent as I don't speak scotchish.

New series of Bojack Horseman on Netflix, I've only watched the first episode but it looks like more of the same for fans of depressing cartoons about assholes.

Watched the new Iron Fist, it was alright. Meandered quite a lot but it ended quite well.

The First
Series about the lead up to first manned mission to Mars, starring Sean Penn.
Sounds good, but unfortunately it isn’t. Series focuses mainly on the astronauts and their personal problems. Not a lot of SF stuff to enjoy.
Nice camera work and acting, but slow and dull.

It's the writing style that's obvious more than anything. I'm waiting to hear from a colleague if Mercurio will do his usual thing of also wrapping everything up in the last 10mins in a rush such that it looks like he ran out of screen time.

Ultimately there's only so much tv we can watch tho (we don't watch that much) so we ditched it so we could see Black Earth Rising and Killing Eve.

Another thumbs up for Killing Eve, superb television and quite reminiscent of Utopia in tone. Jodie Comer absolutely steals the show.

I've got the same nagging doubts about The Bodyguard - much as I enjoyed Line of Duty, there was a bit of emperor's new clothes about it and any hint of it being grounded in reality was often thrown out the window when it suited them (as well as intelligent characters behaving like idiots to progress things).
Cheers,

Mike.

Was the last episode of the Bodyguard good or not? I am not so sure it lived up to the rest of the other 5. Bit weak imo.

It was certainly tense. The ending was a damp squib.

The last episode jumped the shark so bad the shark is now producing television. Absolute shite. The first 5 were excellent.
