Damned right on both fronts.

The M135i didn't have comfort access, hence needing the brick and recovery to try to steal it.

You’ll probably find delivery is quite reasonable compared to a day of your time + train/fuel costs.

Obviously, I'm worthless - but I'm a grand a day if you want me to re-architect your library system. Although I think it's mostly because I'm really funny.

Realistically, I'm spinning a lot of plates at work right now, so I can't really blow a day off at short notice, and I really, really appreciate my downtime so I think I'd rather get it transported.

Neighbour has told me that he got his 850 T5 transported from Glasgow to here (well his parents, but same location) via Shiply for £250 which sounds comparable distance wise and isn't bad at all for the money so I'll look into that.

Congrats Beany. I love the Z4. That shape and classic sports car lines... Aged beautifully.

If you value your downtime and say you enjoy cars then a road trip is about as good as it gets!

Don’t buy a 3.0 Coupe if you don’t like driving so get driving it!

I mean 200 miles on the M1 and M4 (or whatever) is hardly The Thrill of Driving

Marv, ta - if I'd bought a Z4M Coupe I could have claimed that I had the ultimate version of your car, but alas, slightly outside my purchase/maintenance budget ;)

Here is an idea, don’t sit on the motorway.

Knowing I’ve a long drive ahead and no set route is one of life’s great joys and freedoms. Podcasts, music, perfect.

Just need to see if I can bribe me neighbour for a (cough, 200 mile) lift, or if it's easier to just get it transported, once balance has cleared etc.

Yeah it's not got the N52K motor with the little detail fixes it has, but has had (and has evidence of in the PH thread) lots of other things cleaned up and fixed on it that I'd have to do on literally any other car I'd buy so it seems like a sensible choice.
Have you actually ran any checks on this? Its coming up as a red car on the DVLA checkers. Which could mean its been cloned. Bearing in mind you have no intention to go view this before paying for it id suggest not doing that...

It’s listed as red in the PH advert as well.

It's an individual shade, black with red metallic flake (Ruby Black) so it's a bit odd, but odd in a way that sort of makes sense, and it's not uncommon.

https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=117679

A friend ran a check as he has a pal in the trade with free access to this and he found nothing of concern (And brought up the black/red, too)

Yeah it gave me a bit of a jump too but it seems it's just a weird oddity and seemingly not wildly rare either

According to that Z4 forum link the biggest issue is likely to be detail stuff like ANPR checks etc, so if that is an issue I might look into how much of a ballache it is to change the colour with DVLA.

Even though it's technically correct, having to pull a torch to show off the metallic flake to a copper in the rain at 11pm at the side of the road would get old, fast

Probably something silly like the dvla only recognising single word colour descriptions so if the dealer tried registering it as ruby black it would have just picked ruby and assumed red.

Yeah seems likely. If they'd put SCWARZCHRUBEN they'd have gone "Oh, that's black in german, whatever" and banged that in.
