Whose car will break first?
Will it be Sundayjumper’s Toerag V10 of doom or Hoyleyboyley’s FFRR (Fully Fubar Range Rover)?

Ooooh - interesting. Define break.

Basically the RR will have a million niggles but the VW should work right up to the point where it self-destructs

Re: Whose car will break first?
I'm going with the VW imploding under mahoosive torks

Re: Whose car will break first?
I like that Hoyleys bought a six figure family wagon with niggles
My wife considers cars as fucked or working. Even with a nail in the otherwise inflated tyre her cars become "fucked" and my problem to be dealt with immediately, I don't have the balls to do a Hoyleys

Re: Whose car will break first?
If we define it by "throws a four figure bill" then I'd suspect the RR will edge it.

I’m defining it as “requiring any mechanical or electronic attention to restore the proper functioning of any part or feature”

Re: Whose car will break first?
I've already replaced the front ARB bushes and I'm part way through replacing the front wishbones - but neither actually stopped the car from working so can I claim them as wear & tear ?NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Sep 17, 2018 9:58 pm I’m defining it as “requiring any mechanical or electronic attention to restore the proper functioning of any part or feature”

Re: Whose car will break first?
Come to think of it, I put new wiper blades on too. That probably meets your definition in the strictest sense ?NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Sep 17, 2018 9:58 pm I’m defining it as “requiring any mechanical or electronic attention to restore the proper functioning of any part or feature”
Re: Whose car will break first?
I think it needs to be something that stops it starting, or leaves you on the side of the road. They'll both comply with the above from Day One!NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Sep 17, 2018 9:58 pm I’m defining it as “requiring any mechanical or electronic attention to restore the proper functioning of any part or feature”
Re: Whose car will break first?
Yes, likewise with mine who considers a wheel bearing (fixed the same day by the AA) and a failed electric window motor which is £20 and 10 minutes to replace cause to lose faith in our Navara. It does have a turbo noise (what can only be described as a Whooooo) but so did our Mitsi Grandis and that had the same noise for about 5 years/70k with no problems at all.Carlos wrote: Mon Sep 17, 2018 9:11 pm I like that Hoyleys bought a six figure family wagon with niggles

Re: Whose car will break first?
I may or may not have being entirely serious. I wrote this sentence about 5 times and I can't make it sound right. Can someone english it for me?JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:56 amI think it needs to be something that stops it starting, or leaves you on the side of the road. Re: Whose car will break first?
That seems a bit harsh tbh. How about any non-trivial component that packs up entirely, or something wear & tear that is enough to fail an MOT ?JLv3.0 wrote: Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:56 am I think it needs to be something that stops it starting, or leaves you on the side of the road. And nothing under £100 counts, or else this will be a very very short game, won by drcarlos
Re: Whose car will break first?
I don't think anything costs under £100 on a RR does it (including filling the tank!)...

Re: Whose car will break first?
OK - vote cast. Don't not let me down, Rangie!
Re: Whose car will break first?
Range Rover definitely. I test drive 2 and both broke down on the test drives!!
I'm going for expensive turbo or alternator on the Rangie.
Dave!

I reckon empty to full is a good £140.
