<Clio nerd> Ackchewally I think you'll find the Clio Williams was 449 Sport Blue, as already available on the 1.8 16v </Clio nerd>

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Looking forward to seeing the pics though Simon. I sort of wish we had a need for one because they appeal hugely.

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
I don't think I've seen one of them IRL yet, but they do look great. Nice purchase!

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Nice work! I was trying to sell my wife on one but she's not biting and prefers the Honda E that one of her friends hasJobbo wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:33 pm We went down to the local Renault dealer today to test drive an R5. Loved it. Turns out they have two in exactly our spec and colour choice arriving tomorrow, one already allocated on the pre-order thing and one the same which isn’t already sold. It is now
Midnight blue with black roof Techno 150. The larger motor/battery with the denim interior. Should be picking it up next Monday. I hadn’t appreciated that this means we will be pretty early owners. Must sort out a charger…

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
The Honda E is wonderful and I did seriously think about them a couple of years ago. But they haven't really depreciated since then, range is sub-100 miles in winter and despite being a Honda I have seen some common reliability issues. Unusual to think a Renault is likely to be more reliable than a Honda, but based on their long experience with the Zoe I have confidence in the R5e.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Seen a couple on the M4 recently, nice choice.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
I'm not risk-averse when it comes to cars (I'd happily have an Alfa/Lotus driveway combo) and I was convinced about getting a Honda E as my daily hack, as I think they look great.GG. wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:39 am Nice work! But I've been on the Honda E FB group for about 12 months now, and there are some expensive problems that crop up, but the main issue is that Honda seemingly gave up and 'dropped the E even before production ended; parts supply can be very difficult, they haven't bothered with any software updates for quite a while now. I'd be reluctant to have one as a car I relied on, even considering the range.
Honda is very much in "quirky toy" territory, unfortunately.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Congrats Jobbo and Mrs Jobbo! (been saying that quite often about your car purchases recently!)
Left over crest; tightens.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
It arrived at the dealer today - ours is either the front or back one on the top of the left hand trailer. Both are identical spec.

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Spotted another new R5 today, in that blue. Looked really good, though it's been such a long time since I last saw a Clio Williams, I hesitate to say they match!

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Looks a lot darker than the original Sports Blue. I'd have to see one in the metal to judge better though.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
That's so cool, Jobbo. Love these!
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Cheers Alex. I realise I've not taken any photos of the Cayenne since we collected it - nor in fact have I driven it - and I'm more excited about the R5. Which we will be picking up on Monday afternoon. Insurance (added to the Admiral multi-car policy, very easy) was £262 with zero no claims.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
That's really good going! Sub £300 premiums seem pretty unusual these days.
Yeah, I completely understand that. The Cayenne is obviously going to be brilliant in its duties, but not all cars have the fun factor.. I imagine the R5 will have that in spades. And it looks fantastic which is just going to add to the experience.
I've seen others say this, and I'm in the same boat - it's the only EV so far that's made me think 'I'd have one of those'. Super fast 2.5 ton saloons don't do it for me.
Looking forward to your updates with it

Collection is 3pm tomorrow. Photos will definitely be taken. I’m clearly not an SUV fan.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
It has arrived - very pleased with the blue. I totally ignored it when looking at the configurator but it's got a good amount of sparkle in the metallic and the gold roof line goes really well.

needs gold speedlines.
Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
Needs that green stripe on the numberplate removed. Fortunately that will happen within a few days when we put a different plate on it.
Also needs the dealer's sticker removed from the rear window.

Re: Renault 5 - Test drive
I particularly like them in the funky yellow, but that does look classier.
Also - yes to that

That's not a small hatchback anymore. Interesting to see your experience as it is a possible Zoe replacement.
