titanium exhausts

Post by mik »

Obvious advantage of titanium is reduced weight. Duh.

But is what this dude is saying true? (In relation to heat-cycles causing problems - I don't care if it was "never intended as an exhaust material").

Does it only matter if you have "pie-cut" sections welded together as opposed to mandrel bends? Obviously Ti is harder to bend.... :?

No option for 'I made my own'.

I stuck with Stainless for the manifold but the rest is Ti. I'm not convinced its the right material for manifolds, but for the rest of the system its perfect. My silencer is massive and weighs 3 kilos and replacing the two 180 bends with Ti from stainless saved 4.5 kilos.

I’m a big fan of a quality mild steel personally. Given the choice it sounds nicer to my ears.

304 stainless if I had to buy I’ve never chased weight.
