I got in, adjusted the wheel, moved the seat back, attempted to recline it, but doing that moved the seat base forward.
Why? Because it was already as far back as it could go!
Ludicrous. I'm only 6ft1. The only other car I have found too small to get comfortable in was a mk2 MX5.
I tried a 991 just before it and that had plenty of room. Obviously I have had the GT-R and an Exige and Elise and Smart and MGB with no problems at all.
Then you get out and look at the crazy length of the bonnet and remember there aren't even any so-called back seats like the 911 and it all seems a bit ridiculous that you can't even get the seat far enough away from the pedals...

Re: Mercedes AMG GT - stupid packaging
Are you considering a 991 / AMG GT or are these just joyrides?

No they were at Kop Hill for the hill climb on display and open to sit in.
I do like the 991 though a lot.
There were some interesting cars there. The McLaren Senna, a LaFerrari which was apparently JKs.
And my favourite, Christine

Weird, I remember reading a Clarkson review on it and he loved it, plus he’s a giant isn’t he?
How about not having a sig at all?

You *should* fit in that.Mark_bt52 wrote: Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:03 pm No they were at Kop Hill for the hill climb on display and open to sit in.

They damaged a lot of cars during the making of that film (obvs).Mark_bt52 wrote: Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:03 pm No they were at Kop Hill for the hill climb on display and open to sit in.

The car for all the "undamaged" shots was apparently known as Pristine Christine.

Nice. Although if thats the one I stumbled across on an industrial estate in Surrey a few years ago it's not a proper Fury. Can't recall what the guy told me but it was another Plymouth of the era cut down to look like a Fury. I'll have to see if I can find the pic laterMark_bt52 wrote: Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:03 pm No they were at Kop Hill for the hill climb on display and open to sit in.

You probably mean the Belvedere.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Mon Sep 17, 2018 11:51 amNice. Actually the Fury was just a top trim level of the Belvedere, so they are the same car really.
Have you seen the power that these things had? 305bhp for the standard v8 and 425+ for the GTX engine! On the other hand the 6 to 8 mpg is a bit off-putting.
Still, at least there wouldn't be any maintenance required

Blimey, no I didn't know what power they made. Actual genuine proper power!
ISTR he mentioned something about the rake of the screen was incorrect or some other incredibly specific detail that only a few people might know. I'll go digging now for that photo

Now I've found it there are clearly a lot of differences! In fact, it's a fairly cheap imitation!

The proper example you've posted Mark is lovely
