Just seen on Insta. Very nice!

Seen a few comments about thinking about a change - initial thoughts?

That was a nice quick decision. I very much look forward to reading about your ownership and how it compared to the Elise. Snap decision so must have impressed you 😃

Great colour! Not sure I've seen a white one on the road.

After bumping jobbos thread during the week I chatted with the seller - Jon Seal Sportscars. He said the car was immaculate and offered me strong money on the Elise. FFW to a 6:30 am start this morning to stand infront of it. It was exactly as described. Not a mark on it. Looks stunning with the flip pearlescent paint. So yeah. It’s now outside!

Blimey, hard though it might be to believe, I reckon that's a better choice than the Daewoo Esperanto. 8-)

Assume you drove it back, how you finding it?

It’s the premier edition

Plenty kit on these plus this has optional diamond cut wheels.

I wasn’t sure if it would feel as quick as the Elise. Bit more power but also a bit more weight. It absolutely does feel as fast. Maybe a little faster. Steering is great. Handles really nicely.

Looks like they take a remap nicely too, if you feel it's lacking in grunt. Basic remap will take you to near 300bhp/300lb/ft (looks like it's gearbox limited)

https://www.celtictuning.co.uk/services ... t3-content

Celtic are a baseline for 'bog standard' mapping, a proper rolling road map would be a bit more tuneable to your liking obviously.

That said, something around a ton, I expect 250bhp with gobs of torque is plenty quick.

The one I test drove was the 250; it felt plenty fast enough. I don’t think the 300bhp factory cars feel any faster, nor produce very different figures.

Not that we have discussed it at length…. But…. I suspect there is 0.00000001% chance this vehicle will not be remappped. £700-odd for a 20% power/torque increase is truly exceptional value. 8-)

About remapping…

Discovered that it’s got an outstanding recall that Alpine have no record of it being done. The previous owner said it had been done but my brother (Who works for Renault) has access to their systems. It’s still saying it’s outstanding. I’ve called two alpine dealers who have confirmed the same.

So…it’s booked in next month to get that recall done. Why is this important - Part of the recall work involves them re-flashing the ECU…

Very nice! 👍 Do you think the previous owner has had it re-mapped and hence why he didn’t do the recall?

I’ve found the previous owner and I’ve sent him a DM. See what he says.
