I’ve seen elsewhere that it’s a bit of clickbait and suspended until Monday for production like upgrades - seems more likely.

With spacers and sitting a bit lower, the Emira does look even better.

I've noticed prices firming up recently too. Entry point was slipping below 55k for a few cars but is now back up to 58k.

Autocar published their full road test yesterday - of the V6 First Edition manual which is now in a spec you can't order new. They really like it, subject to a few niggles, and it got 4.5 stars.

Apparently Lotus have announced that any US customers who haven’t received their Emira yet will have their deposits returned to them. Following the tariff announcement Lotus won’t sell any more.

Bloke on PH traded his Emira he had for 2 years for an Evora 410 and how much more he's enjoying it, although clarifies it's largely the track - and needs to get used to the "shonky" build :lol:

I agree, but like everything Lotus have done with the Emira sales, they may have just ballsed up and not bothered giving any cars to the press. Not sure I’ve seen many/any in depth articles before, just Harry Metcalfe’s reports on the car he bought.

Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t sound a million miles apart from Maurice’s first Exige. Different ‘charger, but same engine with 2bular headers and 2bular system.

I don't really understand it, but I was always of the impression that a properly engineered/tested exhaust would be better than a custom one where they just find some bit of pipe and stick them together as requred when someone turns up.

Note, my experience of custom exhausts goes back to fitting stuff to 106's, Saxo's and Nova's in the 90s, where it was that or a Cherry Bomb, so my knowledge* is extremely outdated.

Maybe your right, Ive always been told to avoid off the shelf tunes in favour of a real remap, does the same apply to other parts? I suppose it depends on how good the pipe sticker is. Either way, these look good and sound good on the internet.

Exhausts are one of those things which have been so neutered by emissions and noise legislation that I don’t think an off the shelf system could really make them perform worse.
I can’t find a picture of the Emira OEM manifolds but this is the Evora apparently

Bog standard Toyota part. I guess Lotus only mess with system after the cats but even then they have to put oversized silencers to make them comply with noise limits.
How about not having a sig at all?

Yep those standard close coupled cats of the 2GR are quite restrictive but also very expensive to replace when Lotus gets an engine as a complete package from Toyota.

Interesting consequence of having such restrictive cats is to keep them alive for long term durability requires running richer than ideal at high load to keep them cool so leaving even more power and economy on the table.

As for oversized silencers, yes and no. It's general practice for sport car's exhaust to have a valved system. One side quiet enough to pass noise homologation so either quite restrictive and/or large silencer volume as you said and the other is a free for all. I know Evora 400 is effectively 3" straight through on the loud side.

Trackday noise limits are a whole other kettle of fish though.
