On the assumption that insurance call up and say "yup it's fucked, here's ten grand" (and how long that takes etc) then yes, that's the plan.

It's like he's prepped the specific spec of car I want, the way I'd want it prepped, explicitly for me - it's (without hyperbole) quite uncanny.

I don't quite have ten grand on me right now though, so I do need to wait for insurance, annoyingly - I'll be properly pissed if they say they're not writing it off!

I’m not convinced they’re different dished wheels - those wheels can look dramatically more/less dished depending on the angle you take the photo.

same rear wheels, different angle.

It's probably a mixture of things (angle, camera, overcast lighting, camera compensating with HDR and """AI""" assistance etc) but ultimately, I'm not the one grumbling about the wheels, I think they look fine

Rabbit hole!.... mine's not a vRS - I can only assume (or ask on briskoda) that the vRS version has the same size windows.... https://www.acwmotorsportplastics.co.uk/SKO02FDWP.html
Would I still have to take the damn door apart to fit these? Most likely, to get rid of all the old mechanism, and get the glass undone from the clamps of said mechanism.
Would it be allowed for AutoSOLOs and targa rallies? Probably
Would it save me any money? Unlikely.
Would it make the car look more 'rally? Fo' sho'.
Is the car just a bit too shit looking otherwise, for that sort of thing? Actually, yeah.

I *think* it puts you into the "modified" category for Solos. Probably OK for Targas.

edit - yep:
2.2 Cars in Classes A, B, C and D must retain original bodywork (although additions may be made) and window material must remain unaltered. Interior trim and original number and layout of seats must remain, although seats, steering wheel and seat belts may be changed /uprated.

@JonMad Yeah sounds like the same amount of work to put a poly window in. If you don't need the window to be able to raise/lower, you could remove the existing mech and then jam the glass up with bits of wood......

To replace the rivets you have to drill out - you could fit speed fasteners and then screw into them, but who knows whether there is somewhere that the speed fastener will sit correctly? I'd (reluctantly) just put new rivets in and curse the designers one rivet at a time.....

It's up on ebay now, so get onto him if it ticks so many boxes, even if you're unsure about the cash right now. Book a time and date to view it, get at the front of the queue, you can always cancel if your insurance payout doesn't work out.

My two rear windows are like that. There's a hollow sound when you tap the door cards. I've never removed them to check but iirc the previous owner said there were two bolts holding the rear glass in place.

New tyres on a EV make a crazy difference, granted more than normal if you’re running on canvas but 6.6% less consumed on a 75 mile drive
Image
That’s like 15% on a full charge.
I thought the battery was starting to get knackered

Not arguing with your evidence, but how TF does that work? Higher gearing offered by bigger tank tracks? Sounds unlikely it would have that big an effect. Reduced rolling resistance? Could it be that significant?

No idea. Last time I put it down to the Hankook being more efficient than the PS4S, but now seeing as the new tyre is also the same make and model as what it replaced my last conclusion may not be as accurate.
Going from 1.6mm tyre tread to 8mm shouldn’t affect range that much.

Apparently the Z4C "has a lovely specification featuring a full black leather sports interior, brushed aluminium trims, Rubin Black Metallic paintwork, sports mode, satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable heated seats and a very tidy set of style 108 BBS split rims"

Image

Those rims don't look terribly split.

Compression of the air within the treads ?

I remember one of the tyre manufacturers saying that noise from a tyre equals efficiency as generating noise requires energy.

Bah, car is being repaired. Will need to do a courtesy car swap between enterprise and the local BMW main dealer.

Have let the seller mentioned earlier know that I can't come out to play :(
