So had I :lol: which is a shame because as a daily it was fine, if a bit big really - but it was used for weekend trips to hertfordshire to see a lass with three kids so it was very good for that.

Not so much use for right now though. Weird to be in a position where just with my savings, I could buy a clean 2.5T TitX Sport. I mean, I won't, but I could.

Thanks for the link. I have this and a Hat Boy Harvey one to folllow. Currently the glass is stuck down though - I can only pull it up less than 2”.

Yeah, likely meant to be wrapped around the white bit inside the door. It's likely snapped and got mashed up. Can you drag the glass up & down by hand ? If so the cable is broken. Repair kits should be pretty cheap it's just a bit of a faff of a job.
Can’t move the glass more than a couple of
Inches. Mechanism is lowered.

Bmw e36 ones are riveted in. With very hard rivets, which often haven’t broken the stem in the right place 😡

I replace with suitable size nuts and bolts. Make sure the bolts aren’t too long, and preferably use nylock nuts.

Sent them a message, as they've basically done everything that I'd want to do (other than a set of Bilstein B6s)

I'd get rid of the CSL reps though....I'm not sure if they're a size too big, or there's something slightly different in the design but they don't look quite right :?

Stick to the OEM, or get proper ones. IMO of course, but you'll be silently judged for it moving forward.

I'd lose the CSL reps as well but if you're lucky he might have kept the originals. If not, it wouldn't be hard to find a set on eBay surely, because everyone seems to want CSL reps; so they should sell for a decent amount.

I haven't done a comparison with Maurice's car (his were of course genuine CSL wheels) but I think it looks fabulous on those reps. I'd personally be doing absolutely diddly squat in relation to those. 8-)

I like the CSL wheels (although I think they might be a bit too spaced out) - it looks like those arches were made to be filled with 19s. Those look a bit over-bright in photos which might be the camera trying to 'help' - I'm sure you've all seen your modern AI-backed smartphone photos come out looking weirdly coloured because of that.

I agree they do look a bit different to other CSL reps I've seen - might be they look a bit more 'contrasty', maybe having been freshly cleaned for photos, being a bit more polished (as in wax/ceramic, not 'polished finish') or similar? It's pretty subtle either way.

The finish on the wheels in the second picture looks pretty close to what it looks like on genuine CSL wheels, though perhaps exaggerated a bit by the camera.

It does reek of an HDR artifact.

Anyway, enterprise called to confirm the car will be back next tuesday (yes yes) and apparently I can just switch it to retail rental if I need it a bit longer.

So just waiting on Copart, then to presumably argue the toss with BMW on value of car, then hopefully I'll be in a position to make an offer of a LARGE CASH DEPOSIT or however we describe offering to buy a car on here these days.

I think you're right - there's a comment in the thread about going for extra width/depth, and not being a wheel guy I think I interpreted that as spacers, not actual wheel dish (offset? ET? whatever)

It's certainly not a dealbreaker.
