For anyone who hasn't seen Mark Rober's excellent Tesla v Lexus v Roadrunner wall video.

Starting at the wall test but the rest of the video (including mapping Space Mountain Disney ride with Lidar) I found very enjoyable.

BYD’s new factory is insanely huge, dwarfs even the Tesla gigafactory

The six month view of BYD vs Tesla is even more bizarre

A lot of the Chinese stuff is going well. I think that the CCP not wanting to appear weak with all the tariffs have implemented huge stimulus measures - there’s trillions of RNB being given to large banks who are just hoovering up their own stocks.

Lidar video is interesting, I’d like to see radar compared too. I can be stuck right up behind a box van and the radar can still see 2 cars ahead. I imagine it can easily detect a solid wall too…

That's particularly damning when it never actually got going properly in the first place; it didn't have a year of achieving anywhere near targets. They were aiming for 250,000 per year and sold 39,000 in 2024. Dropping 58% from that means they'll be selling at about 6.5% of target in the second year. Ouch.

That could be a blessing in disguise. I won’t be surprised to see the ones used for towing snapping their chassis in large numbers a few years down the line and having to do a mandatory buyback.

If sales are utterly tanking, now's the time to buy one, put it in storage then sell it for $500k in 20 years time.

It’ll have set itself on fire by then, or the body panels will fall off which is the latest recall

More Musk than Tesla, but imagine paying billions to own a social media company so you can pretend you have friends, also paying a gobsmacking amount to try to own the government, and yet still getting ratio'd to fuck on the social media platform you own by a PR account for a Ubisoft game.

For context, IIRC Hasan is a streamer who, presumably, is not disingenuously slamming the game for existing to grift their audience.

(it's currently well over 300k likes)

Bear in mind, a lot of people hate Ubisoft, some for 'yOu DiD a BlAcK mAn iN FuEdAl JaPaN WrOng' or whatever the fuck that is about (the grifters who will claim it's DEI or some shit), others because as a company they've protected credibly accused sexual assaulters for years (people who actually take ethics remotely seriously), others because lately they just put out very middling, sloppy games (pretty much everyone else). But suffice to say they're far from a darling in the eyes of most gamers, for various reasons.

And even then, people like them more than Musk.
