Aston Martin & Maserati's 2024 Results

Post by SSO »

Just posted up the articles on Aston Martin's & Maserati's 2024 results.

Aston Martin: https://ssoreport.com/aml-2024

Maserati: https://ssoreport.com/maserati-2024

Numbers are pretty ugly for both.

Messy indeed.

You'd have though with Ferrari's intention to limit supply and send their prices to the moon that would leave room for Aston and Maserati to grab the odd customer.

But not enough.

AMLs ability to raise cash with escalating trade wars must be causing sleepless nights in Gaydon. Not helped by their neighbours throwing in the towel on mass production and burning the house down in the hope of an upmarket relaunch.

AML's neighbor has completely lost the plot.

AML’s figures are ridiculous: forecourts full of vehicles and increasing debt, plus Stroll moving out of the spotlight (as a non-wallflower) all suggest it is going one way .. mitigating factors- Jethro picked the Vanquish over the 12C (Ferrari not McLaren 😁 ) and Monkey liked it and said it looked incredible, but hasn’t spoke about it since driving the F12C.. I want AML to do well, but like many manufacturers, I think they’ve moved the price point too high , which worked when we had low interest rates, but no longer do… / see Porsche and Ferrari new vehicles that arent sold
Cheers,

Ian

Also in my view yes, but Richard Porter's opinion that Jaguar hasn't been making money in many years and why keep on trying to be BMW when it's not profitable also makes sense.

Trying something new and different makes sense, running blindly off a cliff.....not so much.

Aston announces 2025 earning at the end of February. That should be quite interesting.

Probably not the right thread, but why on earth didn’t Maserati use the twin turbo V6 Alfa used in the Giulia and Stelio qv but instead developed their own twin turbo v6 or similar capacity and similar power output for their own models?

Seems like the sort of daft money wasting decision that BL loved to make in the 70s
