8-) Does it have a SpaceX engine?
It does 0-60 in a claimed 650seconds though.

So even if it maintains the same rate of acceleration, it'll take 147333.333 seconds to reach 13600mph.
Or 2455minutes.
Which is 40.92 hours
In other words, 1.7 days.

:?

Evo, the thrill of driving slow

Same - and that one’s £30k because it’s pre-reg. List is a sniff under £35k.

I know I’m not normal but if I had £30k to spend on a car, an MX5 would not be anywhere on the list.

Same here but I guess that's just how it is with 'new' car prices. There are probably not many fun cars left in the low £30k bracket?

You can't buy much new for £30k anymore!

A nice example of car inflation is my dad's Dacia Duster, £13,700 new in 2018 and he's enquired about a new one in similar pretty basic spec. £22,000 with a few months wait.

Over a 60% rise and they can't get enough of them lol

A peasant spec emira is circa £100k, how many evo cars can be picked up new for under £40k ?

That’s seven years to be fair ! Works out 7% pa. So above inflation, but not insanely so.

That’s not an unexpected reaction from you. I’m proof that people do - and that was after comparing quite a few different cars at various price points. The reality is that £30k or so for a new light rwd roadster with up to date tech and solid reliability isn’t bad value these days. I’ve had my fun with £1000 MX5s and even those are nearer £10k now.

@MikeHunt, I paid £33k for mine brand new so that’s not a massive saving for a car which has already used up nearly a third of its warranty period. Worth checking out Carwow prices on a brand new one.

I've always considered the VW Golf to be the barometer of car prices - they *start* at £28,000 now. I still consider spending £30k on a car to be a lot of money, and it turns out I could only just about buy a pauper-spec Golf.

A MK5 Golf in 2004 was £11.5k (£20k adjusted)

New car prices are just geared up to finance these days - the actual number has become meaningless and the monthly figure is all that matters. The RRP just helps them pin a future settlement figure.

I had an email from one of the leasing company the other day advertising a BMW i7 M70 Xdrive saloon for £760+vat a month - the apparent RRP of the car was £182k!

Apart from the freakshow appeal of having multiples of cars like the Regera in one place, it doesn’t really appeal tbh.

i’m really not liking the current design language from Ferrari. Really fussy and overweight looking imo.

Saw a Mitsubishi Delica the other day, more rare and more interesting to me than most of that stuff

Quite a lot of T50s, don’t think I’ve seen one on the road yet. Also looking at it from above it looks like a bad kit car copy of the Porsche 918 which is something I’d not noticed before.

I wanted one of those ages ago but ended up with the T4. The Delicas were all rusty and they’re weirdly narrow too.

This is the one I wanted. But looking back at the MOT history the last MOT expired Dec 2013. I think I dodged a bullet 😂

Aye, a guy at work has one. They’re all ancient and they were always prone to rust.

I like them, it’s a mix of Shogun and L200 underneath so they’re mechanically pretty bombproof.

My uncle in Australia ran one of the older flat front ones into the ground.

The blue 918 8-)

Delicas are intriguing, but apart from what SJ said, I don't know if I'd want one if I wasn't going to use it properly. I don't know how much decent ones are these days, may well be enough to consider a aT25 Syncro instead. If needing work, there was an awd Transit on FB that needed welding but came with the panels required.

Oh, I saw two three door Evoques in the same day - no converts, but a T-Roc with the roof down.

You’d have to really want a Delica to pick one over a different 4wd van these days tbh. An ex works transit or something would be a much safer purchase.
