Mentioned it only a few days ago but what's to stop Trump pulling support for the American military equipment the UK has if he doesn't like us supporting Ukraine, putting boots on the ground to maintain a peace treaty etc. Essentially all the American stuff will be a worthless paperweight?
How about not having a sig at all?

He likes money.

Also, he requested Europe to step up support to Ukraine - which we have done, hindering that would be against what he requested.

Also if it somehow works and the war ends he can still claim the victory - which he is desperate to be “responsible” for.

I imagine the US defence industry will lean very heavily on him.

They’ve done it multiple times before.

F35 software, Apache software and upgrades, also famously the sharing of technology which they lied about, stole our tail fin design and used it to break the sound barrier.

And Zelensky is now making noises about working with the US and I presume giving in to most of the demands from Trump, who at this stage is basically Putin's front man.

Did that weeks ago on our SOA risk analysis thingy.

We don't deal with US clients, but we have US vendors (AWS, DO, etc) and they're likely to be impacted by cost pressures, political instability, etc.

Yes - which is why I'm surprised that I've had US political instability in my risk an analysis before them.

Given where you work I can understand why it's not been put in there till now (when it's now clearly proper mask off lunatic fringe in the US) given the risk of it leaking - and coming from where you work, it's more pressworthy than where I work - but I fully expect someone there has had the analysis sitting and waiting to be added in for a few weeks now.

Unless it's some sort of weird shorting stockmarket thing they haven't yet leaned enough ot make a difference.

Timestamped at 21:11 for the share prices of Non-US to US comparison. But the whole thing is worse a watch.

TLDR The CEOs of Hanwha, Rheinmetall, Leonarda and SAAB are all sending Trump a Christmas hamper.
General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin maybe not.

If it weren't all so serious, I'd be having a good laugh at this:
https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/p ... -research/

TLDR: Trying to be a good Trumpist, Ted Cruz has been on a mission rooting out wasteful spending on "woke" scientific research. Amongst the projects in the line of fire is a study on plant biodiversity, and one to create biosensors to detect infectious diseases because it the acronym "POC" for point of care was mistaken for "people of colour".

Don't flatter yourself too much  I don't work in the Cabinet Office receiving these updates on a daily basis, this was a specific one-off.

For our Director of Cyber Defence, responsible for an estate of over 200,000 people, to be personally doing briefings to admin plebs like me, is quite unusual. This is being taken extremely seriously here.

As a European conservative, I hate the non-researched bullshit that Trump vomits.. it is literally ruining any other view point including other what people would call right of centre views, even if they would actually be beneficial for all of us.. I’m still to see a single positive from Trump (unless you’re a Russian oligarch obviously)
Cheers,

That's hilarious about transgender mice Vs transgenic

But it's been said now

And he'll never correct himself

So it may as well be fact now (to anyone not exposed to media coverage of this)
