Bad tea

Had a rather flabby earl grey in Canada once. Didn't care for it one bit.

Years of visiting customers and having all kinda of terrible tea has seen me grown accustomed to drinking pretty much anything.

That being said.....I still a traditionalist and don't care for Earl Grey, Matcha, Assam.... Twinings English Breakfast, at least 3 mins steeped, then milk, no sugar. The end.

Teabag in the cup, then the milk, soak the bag, then the boiling water and let it steep for a couple of minutes.

I watched a show where a man with a bow tie said something about boiling water and tea leaves so I just do what he says. I mean the man had a bow tie on so must be correct.

Agreed - that’s a fucking hate crime.

I also make awesome Tea, despite no longer drinking it. This is because I started making evening tea for the family at age 5.

Teabag and milk should never be in the cup together. Dave is the beneficiary of the old adage that a cup of tea which someone makes for you always tastes better than one you have to make for yourself. Gratitude clearly makes up for a lot

I’m a water drinker so have no opinion on taste, like you say it’s probably just so they can sit on their arse

Also, boiled in a copper kettle on a gas job, one cup and electric water warmers can FRO.

We have a Sage kettle that lets you set the temperature in 5 degree increments.. I add 5 degrees to the recommended temperature (or warm the cup beforehand).

I'm the opposite. A cuppa I make myself is always better than one someone else makes.

To release the flavonoids, the water has to be above 85 degrees when it hits the tea. You should only put the milk in first if you're using a teapot.

One of my managers used to put the milk in with the teabag and pour the boiling water over that, his tea never tasted right.

We had the debate about putting in the milk last.

One time, we went to the kitchen to make drinks and for the tea I got him to put in the milk last...and it didn't make any difference, his tea still tasted equally as terrible as before

I have genuinely no idea on the ins and outs of how tea is made. But I'm a ponce so will drink Earl Grey or Lapsang (or even a French Earl Grey if I'm feeling fruity) and 'normal' tea just tastes like ditchwater to me.

I should hope so! I did work for a probiotic tea company and had the person who set up Clipper and the person who ran it after he left running it.
