Evoest year of the last two decades to choose your new 10 car garage.

Post by RobYob »

Partially inspired by SSOs viewtopic.php?p=232039#p232039 post that got me thinking is there any year where I'd happily fill a ten car Sports/super/hyper/megacar garage and not feel like I'd missed out.

Poll is for two year blocks but see if you can hit a single year with your personal list.

I'll go for [s]2005[/s] 2006! was a good year.

Pagani Zonda F
Honda NSX (sadly not the pop-up headlight era but maybe I could sneak in a retrofit...)
Ferrari 575 (missed out on having a Ferrari Enzo option by a year but... yeah, nah)
Porsche Carrera GT
Porsche 996 GT3
Lotus Exige S2
Lamborghini Murcielargo
Aston Martin DB9
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX
BMW M6 V10 (I'll sneak a manual in there when no-one is looking)

PS Holy crap my brain couldn't compute that 2006 is two decades ago....

PPS Immediately screwed myself by picking 2005 models, so epic fail me.

PPPS I can't get strikethrough to work and at this point I give up.

I’d probably struggle to think of 10 cars from the past 20 years I lust after.

I could easily pick 10 which were on sale in 1989 I’d have 😅

1992 for me. Last two decades I can only think of the odd supercar here and there.
Mclaren F1
Ferrari Testarossa
Ferrari F40
Jaguar XJ220
Bugatti EB110
Honda NSX-R
Porsche 964 RS
Porsche 959
Road legal 962. They go up to 1991 but close enough.
Lamborghini Diablo

Could go on
How about not having a sig at all?

And XJR15 too damnit, I almost created the pole in 5 year increments to span further but I knew putting the F1 anywhere would make it a forgone conclusion.

But yes I think '92 had invalidated the entire thing.

You bastard.

Seems a bit luddite to dismiss modern cars tbh.

I’d have a testarossa in my lottery garage but if I only had space for that or a 12Cilindri I’d have the latter.

I find it impossible to do these ten car lists though, my lottery list is in the hundreds

I like the Porsche 918, but I prefer the carrera gt, but I’d take a 993 gt2 over either. I like the la Ferrari but wouldn’t buy one ahead of an f40

I don’t hate all modern cars, I just don’t get excited by many and can think of very few I would choose ahead of older ones I find interesting.

But yeah, if I could afford a single supercar there’s no way I’d be suffering having only 10 cars. Give me £500k and I’m more likely to buy 100 £5k cars 😄

Yeah, I’m destined to be one of those old guys with a bit of land full of hulks returning to the soil
