Sad to see them totally give up and turn to rebadging Chinese shite.
could be the solution everyone’s after though. chinese costs, familiar Japanese name.

Or British in the case of MG.

I saw that comment too, but read elsewhere that actually it's a collab between Mazda and a Chinese co, in that they joint developed it. Which is true I don't know.

Internet seems to say 3085kg. But still. You'll hit the GVW of 3500kg just by having four adult males on board without luggage.

Draw straws to see who can't come in the car because it'll go over 3.5t? Soz, there's a 50kg passenger weight limit if we're bringing luggage.

While the weight is silly, it’s not particularly unexpected with a base vehicle that weighs 2.5 tonnes and adding a massive tray of batteries.

It wouldn't be allowed over the canal bridge at the end of my village (3t weight limit). FFS. However, I think it can turn on the spot like the Yangwang so I guess you can easily come into the village, rotate and drive back out the way you came.

It’d be rude not to when you have a motor for each wheel.

Love the shake after they stop again. Like they've been twerking.

Good if you leave it sitting and they flat spot though. Just sand them round again.

I know they (Merec) are not the first, but I would like propose this for most-stoopid-vehicle-feature of the moment. :geek:

They’ve been able to do it for a while, they were doing it in the turning circle at the top of the goodwood hill last year.

Looks like they spin round an awful lot quicker than the Yangwang

Having been for a rotation in the Yangwang, they're definitely quicker but the Yangwang didn't wobble around afterwards and was actually quite comfortable to ride in. That video does not look comfortable.

I wonder if these tank turns are even legal on the road. I thought any wheel slip is seen as failure to maintain control or whatever term they use.
There’s also another variant where you drive nose in to a parallel parking space and the back end just does a slow burnout into the space.

Wonder if anyone has ever been prosecuted for damaging a road surface?

I’d love to see one of these turns done on a nice warm soft tar and chippings surface dressed road that seems to be every road around here.
