Re: Eurosport
Pretty gutted about this given the sports they covered and how much time they devoted to them.
The cost of these sports channels is out of control and due to the rights issues being so fragmented, its not like you could even just subscribe to one to follow your favourite team or even sport unless its pretty niche.

Re: Eurosport
This current fragmentation is unsustainable tbh.
People moved from old fashioned cable/sky subs to streaming because it was convenient, customisable to your wishes and cheaper.
It’s none of those things now.

Re: Eurosport
I remember well how Gavster & I used to drunkenly watch the off road truck trials late at night.
Re: Eurosport
Where am I going to watch Le Mans now?!

Where am I going to watch Snooker now?
Re: Eurosport
Bugger, another thing to have to source from illegitimate corners of the web.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Eurosport
Agreed! For a long time I pirated everything, because a) skint and b) couldn't watch US shows otherwise, or would be a week/season behind.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 10:31 am This current fragmentation is unsustainable tbh.

~10years ago I got tired of the faff and thought fuck it, I'll just pay for a couple of streaming services, and stop watching some things.
The way things are now has me tempted to return to the high seas... I obviously want to watch the world cup MTB stuff - last year it was £6.99 a month as part of Disco+/Eurosport, this year they want £31.99 a month, for tnz or whatever it's called.

Re: Eurosport
I'm starting to go back to the high seas too and the quality on offer is now so much better than it used to be
It's getting ridiculously expensive if you want to watch everything of interest these days and very difficult to dip in and out without signing up to something for a month or more at a time. Not to mention the different rights issues and exclusive deals which means some stuff isn't available to watch or even buy legally anywhere now.

Re: Eurosport
For browsing & watching your stuff after you've completely legally downloaded it, Plex is excellent, btw.
Re: Eurosport
Ta! I used to use that donkeys ago, good to hear it's still about.
Re: Eurosport
Being found using a cracked Kobi box or similar type of device to obtain free content which is usually charged for is instant dismissal where I work
Re: Eurosport
Ah that makes more sense.
I have no issue with piracy, like others it was convenience that stopped me and it’s the new lack of convenience that’ll push me back.
I’ll buy things from artists I like but I’m never going to feel guilty for not paying for Netflix ip tbh.
