Re: Trump
Something which slipped by me was that all those thousands of drone sightings across airports and everywhere else in New Jersey has been confirmed by the Trump administration as US drones doing research and authorised by the FAA. It's a bit crazy how relaxed even the previous administration and FAA was towards air safety when these things were circling around airports and flights were allowed to continue.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Trump
He really thinks it’s the answer to everything foreign policy. He’s threatening the same against BRICS too.
Canada & Mexico seem to be standing up to it for now. Plans for retaliatory tariffs aimed at red states, and EVs, a personal nod to elmo.
Edit - and already video of American-made booze being removed from Canadian shop shelves in protest.

Re: Trump
Any news on Tesla shutting down its plants in China and moving manufacturing back to the US of A yet?
Thought not.

Re: Trump
The real question is how it’ll knock onto American brands, how much tariff will be added to an iPhone made in china, how much tariff will it add to an American made GM ev that uses a Chinese battery, and if it does have a knock on that ends up with this policy reversed, how much will china deliberately fuck over American companies?integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:03 pm Any news on Tesla shutting down its plants in China and moving manufacturing back to the US of A yet?

Re: Trump
Where's that being reported ?? Everything I can see is Canada & Mexico setting up their own retaliatory tariffs.
EU next, btw, and I'm not sure if he thinks we're still part of the EU or not, so that'll be interesting

Yeah, I know he's suggested it before, but Mito made it sound like it was being taken seriously

Re: Trump
Think it's time I make a list and order service parts and consumables for the American cars from RockAuto for the next 4 years before we get involved in this shit show.
Oil filters, spark plugs, cabin filters, brake pads, diff/gearbox/engine sump plugs, wipers.

Re: Trump
I still cant get my head around the poor struggling American citizens not being outraged by the likes of the ceo in this clip having so much sway on their politics, and ultimately making sure those without adequate medical insurance die a painful death (obviously this could be fake news, but it rings so close to the truth it still highlights the issue)

Re: Trump
There's fairly regular stories of differing healthcare outcomes across the UK, it wouldn't be hard to spin that as "<person> is deliberately killing <certain type of people> in <pick a demographic> parts of the country" if you wanted a conspiracy theory.

Re: Trump
Is there a Canadian equivalent ? I'm sure a lot of the stuff is made in the US so going via Canada won't help but Canada has its own manufacturing and they have exactly the same kind of cars so I bet at least some of it is made there. My old Galaxie was built in Canada albeit 59 years ago.Mito Man wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 6:09 pm Think it's time I make a list and order service parts and consumables for the American cars from RockAuto for the next 4 years before we get involved in this shit show.

I don't think I knowingly buy American-made stuff, but I do feel like deliberately buying some Canadian stuff in solidarity right now. I'll be switching to a diet of Maple syrup & whisky.
Re: Trump
This was the point I was trying to make about the knock onto supply chains in USA. The Ford Coyote 5.0v8 engine is made in CanadaMito Man wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 6:09 pm Think it's time I make a list and order service parts and consumables for the American cars from RockAuto for the next 4 years before we get involved in this shit show.
