Car clubs are utterly pointless now too. They've got all sorts of trackers and real time GPS blackboxes so go over 70 mph a few times and that's your £5000 deposit revoked and you're out. It's why you just end up with tits revving them down the high street.

Adding a threads link which includes other (and closer) angles of the impact. Viewer discretion required.

Mainly posting it as around 80% of the armchair-expert comments are claiming this looks intentional

Everything here is nuts
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/liv ... co-tariffs
Tariffs starting from tomorrow.
Tariffs on oil and gas from 2 weeks time - that'll reduce the price at the pumps!
Sacking all FBI agents that have investigated him.
Removing all the DEI stuff and setting up a hotline so staff can rat each other out.

That's just some of the shit he's done so far today.

I've just watched that half a dozen times and I'm still not sure which aircraft is which ? I think the videos are from opposite sides of the river (??) and depending on the perspective it's hard to tell relative speeds.

It's an extremely busy airspace and from what I've read the onus is on the rotary wing to pay attention and stay below the flight path of the stuff using the runways. Not going to say it was intentional but - it does appear to be a serious fcukup by the Blackhawk pilot.

People have been conspiracy theoring that Trump is trying to instigate civil unrest so that he can proclaim a proper full blown martial law type state of emergency and rip the country apart for profit, or something.

Honesty, it's been a week and it's looking less and less like a conspiracy. Although a bit like a dog chasing a postie van, he probably won't know what to do when he catches up to it.

It does feel a bit like "TARIFF!!!" is his new favourite word and therefore that's his entire answer to foreign policy.

It's going to kill US exports. Where I work we're already considering whether to ditch US suppliers.

He thinks Tariff is the most beautiful world in the english language.

Mind you he thought Melinia was the most beautiful sex worker he'd bought and defrauded a visa for till he fucked that porn star, so you know, things change.

The tariffs are his bluff and everyone knows it. The longer it goes on the more prices will rise in America and the more he ruins his own reputation. Hopefully these more powerful countries call his bluff and don't fold like Columbia did.

It's not donold, he's a moron, it's the people behind him. Destroy federal government, blame federal government, privatise federal government, pass ownership to the oligarchs. It's Russia 2.0.

I don't think we've covered the 30,000 capacity holiday camp being set up at Guantanamo ? Separate from (in addition to) the military prison. Key point being Guantanamo has a weird legal limbo where it's not technically under American or Cuban laws. It's Gulag 2.0.

Colombia.

Columbia is a University in New York, and a clothes brand.

Colombia didn't fold. There were already deportation flights going on for years, that's not new, the issue was donold unilaterally deciding to start using military planes and putting the deportees in manacles for the photo ops

Strictly speaking, landing military planes in a foreign country without permission is an act of war  so they weren't allowed to land.

Colombia: You're being a dick.
donold: TARIFFS!!!!
Coffee futures market: we're pricing in the risk of tariffs.
Everyone in America that likes coffee: social media outrage.
donold: OK, we'll put them on civilian planes and treat them humanely.
Coffee futures market: we still don't trust you, these prices are staying.

Ah yes, Project 2025, that thing that Trump definitely wasn't associated with, yet somehow 2/3rds of these policies have come from.

I’m wondering how he’s going to explain away rising prices and inflation despite being voted in by promising to cut both straight away.

Probably come up with some new ingenious way to calculate inflation which magically shows it’s dropped despite everything getting more expensive.

You seem to be under the impression he needs to explain it away. He's literally untouchable legally, and he either won't live long enough for it to matter, or he'll try to push for a third term that can't be contested - something his lackeys have already been pushing for. One national emergency during an election, election cancelled, and he doesn't need to win the vote etc.

The point of Project 2025 is to consilidate all the power within the executive branch, who are all on "the correct" side. At that point, you have a christo-fascist authoritarian state, who needs elections?

It just keeps on going. They've handed the entire government HR records to elon.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/musk-a ... 025-01-31/
Musk, the billionaire Tesla and X owner tasked by Trump to slash the size of the 2.2 million-strong civilian government workforce, has moved swiftly to install allies at the agency known as the Office of Personnel Management.

The two officials, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, said some senior career employees at OPM have had their access revoked to some of the department's data systems.

The systems include a vast database called Enterprise Human Resources Integration, which contains dates of birth, Social Security numbers, appraisals, home addresses, pay grades and length of service of government workers, the officials said.

"We have no visibility into what they are doing with the computer and data systems," one of the officials said. "That is creating great concern. There is no oversight. It creates real cybersecurity and hacking implications."

Officials affected by the move can still log on and access functions such as email but can no longer see the massive datasets that cover every facet of the federal workforce.

The already left a broadcast address wide open to anyone.

So I'm sure that data they have access to is totally safe, and won't get leaked to neonazis.

Sorry, on Twitter. Same difference.

It's not even actual deportations, per se - just the threat of them.

Farms have been reporting that their labourers just stopped turning up too, because ICE won't even believe you if you do have valid paperwork on you, and will detain you nonetheless. That paperwork could be fraudulent, after all, and they are brown people, can't trust them!

Saw that he released a couple of billion gallons of water from Californian dams for a publicity stunt without telling anyone it was happening. That apparently equates to about a year and a half’s water supply for the farms downstream.

Who are thrilled about losing all that water of course.

Majority of them in the region voted for him, apparently.

They wanted a racist clown, that's what they're getting. And all that comes with it.

It's OK though, he'll blame Newsom and Biden come summer when there's no water for them.

Edit: Yup, I read about this earlier - solid 60/40 in favour of republican candidates at presidential and senate level:
https://tularecoelections.org/elections ... sults-pdf/

https://sjvwater.org/trumps-emergency-w ... nty-lakes/
“A decision to take summer water from local farmers and dump it out of these reservoirs shows a complete lack of understanding of how the system works and sets a very dangerous precedent,” said Dan Vink, a longtime Tulare County water manager and principal partner at Six-33 Solutions, a water and natural resource firm in Visalia.

“This decision was clearly made by someone with no understanding of the system or the impacts that come from knee-jerk political actions.”

For now, water managers are capturing flows in recharge basins, Eric Limas, General Manager for the Lower Tule River and Pixley irrigation districts, wrote in a text.

“I have no idea if this is the new norm for operations or not. I certainly hope not.”
"A complete lack of understanding and setting a very dangerous precedent" should be what they put on Trumps tombstone.
