I love Horse Outside by the Rubberbandits. Not sure why this bit of the video annoys me today rather than any other time in the 15 years since it was released. But at about 57s in, the lyric is about Darragh and his Subaru but the car shown in the video is an AE86 - possibly even quite a rare one since it's a coupe (not liftback) with the fixed headlights.
Now I get that Subaru scans much better in the song but surely they could have found a chavved Impreza for the video?
Horse Outside video
Re: Horse Outside video
I'm a bit confused that the one with a boot as opposed to a hatch is known as the coupe, but otherwise you are correct.

Always a Toyota thing - it's weird enough that they made two body styles of their sports coupes in the first place, but the notchback versions were always the coupe and the hatchback versions were always the liftback. Opel Manta was similar I guess.mik wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 9:50 am I'm a bit confused that the one with a boot as opposed to a hatch is known as the coupe
Re: Horse Outside video
Yeah, after I posted that I also thought about the Manta.

Was going to say the Manta was the sameJobbo wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 10:07 amAlways a Toyota thing - it's weird enough that they made two body styles of their sports coupes in the first place, but the notchback versions were always the coupe and the hatchback versions were always the liftback. An absolute unit
Re: Horse Outside video
That era of Cavalier was also available in both body styles, called coupe (https://www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk/vehicles/2307/) and Sports Hatch (https://auctions.wbandsons.com/auction/ ... t=731&sd=1) - I only draw a distinction from the Manta because the Sports Hatch name wasn't used on the Opel version, as far as I recall.
Anyway, back to the song - why do the lyrics refer to a Subaru and the video show a Toyota, eh?

The other possibility/probability (of course) is that they:
