Nice one Rich, sounds like a good ‘un.

Is it a base S1 with a few mods?

Also, 400 miles is a great time to learn a new car (and test it's reliabilty) - but that's a tiring journey in an S1!

Which Nitron's are on it?

Congratulations, sounds great, and glad this thread reached a successful conclusion.

Re: not feeling tired after 400 miles in an Elise, I think that says more about adrenalin and excitement, rather than indicating it's a super-chilled mile muncher

I did it in the opposite direction. With the standard seats. Arse was raw by the end! At least it was summer when i did it though so had the roof off most of the way.

Nitron Street Series on it. I have settings i can share for these.

The seats are genuinely pretty comfortable - only my lower back hurt a little after the first 100 miles, but bizarrely not at all after the whole 400.

nitrons - They were set up not that long ago and feel great - good to know what they are and experience when in need it though! 👍🏻

After that initial drive I added more padding to the seat base. Made them much better. Those seats you have look much more padded than the standard seats.

Here’s my damper settings.

Front - 16 from hard track. 26 from hard road.

Rear - 14 from hard track 24 from hard road

Wind them to full hard and count the clicks back.

i couldn’t be bothered to do any work today so I’ve enjoyed the whole “Lotus’ing” stuff instead. i took it for a drive to get used to the clutch/throttle and do some emergency starts, I cleared all the stuff from the long journey, cleaned the car, swapped the hardtop for the soft top, sorted a few bits any pieces like the bolts that hold the mats in place coming loose, had a look through all the stuff and generally enjoyed being outside and fettling!

i have a little list of stuff i want to do now, and im quite looking forward to fiddling!

It's quite a satisfying car to do bits on I think, although some places are awkward to get to.

Have a look at Divine Handcraft (https://divinehandcraft.co.uk/)
for refreshing all the stickers that deteriorate over time.

His stuff is top quality. I replaced the sticker on the gear knob, The Elise sticker on the rear clam (After an unfortunate pressure washer incident we don't speak of) and a new set of the side stone chip guards.

What's your heater stickers like? They have a tendency to yellow.

Mine are actually yellow. intentionally - along with the dial surrounds. i’ve already got both in my basket on that site!

good result, i peeled off the nasty yellow dial surround and the grey underneath is in perfect condition. Only £6.50 saved, but i didn’t fancy my chances getting that sticker in place without dismantling the steering column surround.

another little tick.
