Trump
Re: Trump
Add to that, the police.
Weirdly, they're not too happy about the president pardoning violent criminals who tried to directly (and succeeded indirectly) kill cops. Something about undermining the rule of law. Who'd have thought a convicted felon and someone notoriously ignorant of, and mocker of, the law would do this??
"The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024."
As with a lot of Trump fans, they were quite happy to back him, riiiight up till he does something that impacts them personally.

Yeah, it's tricky for the Police. They're OK with unaccountability for beating & killing black people ("donold good"), but far less keen on people being unaccountable for beating & killing Police officers ("donold bad"). Hard to square that one.

Re: Trump
The expectation was to pardon the non-violent ones, e.g. people just charged with trespass. The Police would have accepted that as a compromise. As recently as a couple of weeks ago Vance said violent offenders wouldn't be pardoned. Saying "yeah but trump lol" doesn't make any of it OK.
Pissing off large numbers of Federal employees will come back to bite him, it'll just take a bit of time.

I don’t think he’s done anything surprising yet so I don’t know why people are acting so surprised.

Don't worry though, he's sorting the war in Ukraine. He's "told" Putin to end the war or face (more?) tariffs, sanctions and taxes. Who knew it was so easy? I'm sure Vlad is shaking... with laughter at his pet yipping as if he can make a difference.

Re: Trump
we were chatting about Trumps antics in the office today, which led to a co worker commenting how he was better than that lying cunt Starmer. i asked what he’s lied about and the response was “He lied about being bought glasses by Sadiq Khan whilst taking away old people’s heating”…

Re: Trump
Trump is doing a better job of having a roadmap to follow and executing his vision (not saying the stuff in his roadmap is good here). Starmer and co are good at saying things and not much execution happening aside from the budget side of things.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Trump
How quickly we seem to forget - I love the fact that there isn’t a new crisis every couple of days with our current government. Trump will bring that back to the US. Do people really want to live their lives in that sort of world?

Re: Trump
The proverbial curse "may you live in interesting times" is as apt and unwanted as ever. The sheer momentum of the chaos that is about to unfold in the US will drag us along, while enabling all the wrong sort of people to "have a go". The damage he'll do will take decades to undo, assuming it can be undone.
