In a hurry to park and the rear camera was fogged from all the crap on the road and I reversed into a low wall. Three inch crack in the bumper without any dent. Arses.

My inclination is to leave it depending on how soon I decide to sell as it's just the bumper cover.

I ran low on washer fluid yesterday on the way to work. When that happens the headlight washers don’t wash to conserve the remaining fluid. But in the grimy current weather it was obvious within a couple of miles that the headlights really needed a wash - I did stop and give them a wipe with a cloth.

Anyway, I shall keep a litre bottle of pre-mixed screen wash in the boot in future so I can top up enough to use the washers.

It is - actually looks better in the light of the morning. I think the rear bumper cover is about £700 for a new one so a replacement doesn't seem worthwhile but I might look into repairs. I do remember something about calibration of sensors being important when I previously had some work done and panels were replaced but hopefully this is not an issue with the rear bumper.

I’d be looking on ebay for a new rear bumper and DIY’ing it. There must be loads of teslas being broken for parts these days and they only seem to come in about 5 colours so the chances of finding a good one in the right colour must be fairly decent?

I also ran low on screen wash yesterday.

The mito is particularly annoying as with the headlights on it washes the lights every single time you use the washers to clean the screen so seems to guzzle gallons of the stuff, and the washer bottle is pretty small.

Thinking of sticking a switch in the feed to the motor so I can choose when I need to run the light washers as well. Especially as at the moment the lights are on a lot of the time so I’m visible in dull conditions or low sun rather than actually needing them to see where I’m going.

There’s also no level warning.

The sides of it are already flush with each other and it doesn’t move around so I think any repair would merely be cosmetic (theoretical risk of weather damage to gubbins underneath aside). I will try and upload a pic when I can so you see what I mean.

I've coded out the X5 headlight wash as one of the nozzles wouldn't return about half of the time. 1 minute using an app on the phone seemed a better idea than pulling the bumper apart.
