Re: HNYYBOC.
We just had post-bells cheese, from Mellis - proper Glasgow cheesemonger. A gift from a friend. Not Gromit - another friend.
> Brie Grand Morin Black truffle.
Verdict: fuck me that’s lovely. Creamy. Truffley. Heavenly.
> Isle of Mull cheddar.
Verdict: fuck me that’s lovely. Strong but smoothe. Bite.
> Alp Blossom.
Verdict: fuck me that’s lovely. A bit compte. A bit mangchego. A bit fucking awesome. The only one that was finished in the first sitting.
> Strathdon Blue
Verdict: fuck me that’s lovely. Hints of Roquefort with a smoother finish. I hated the thought of blue cheeses as a sprog. Now a mik go-to. Epic.

Happy new year all.
2025, yet still no flying cars or hover boards.

Re: HNYYBOC.
What was going on with the fireworks? Assuming the graphics inside the wheel were augmented reality and not actually projected there for real somehow? Looked far too clean. At first I wondered if it was some sort of drone arrangement.
No drones at all then, had seemed like the displays were getting more and more reliant on them. Definitely used in lots of other places.
Anyway, happy new year, hope you all have a great 2025!

HNY!
As for the London fireworks I reckon it was far too windy for those tiny drones. Did seem like the shortest display in years probably coz that was all cut out.

How about not having a sig at all?

Re: HNYYBOC.
I was in central London last night and the wind was vicious, it’d be quiet for a while then 40mpg gusts would whip past. Definitely bad conditions for anything with drones. But also no idea how the graphics in the wheel were created, although I assumed they were added afterwards too.
Re: HNYYBOC.
The graphics looked just like the virtual ads displayed round the track during F1 races.

Apparently they were projected onto Hologauze

Re: HNYYBOC.
Well, pretty disappointing that they didn’t do anything more fancy than some text and basic graphics which looked similar to the digital adds we’ve had in sports for years.
Cheers, Harry
Re: HNYYBOC.
It would be nice if they changed the location. 25 years of the same thing at the Eye gets a bit repetitive. If only London had other landmarks.
