I have filed this under “acceptable” for performance.

I’ve been in a car that could do 131mph in 10.31 seconds. It was frankly uncomfortable on the road.

It is clear to me that I’m too much of a pussy for todays super cars and I’m happy with them up to the mid 2000s

I agree, and In the UK it’s almost impossible to use a fraction of that performance. I struggle to find occasions to use full throttle in our 125i! Admittedly when I was more of a hooligan and had a Z06 as my company car I did make good use of the power, but that was 2006/7 and cameras were relatively sparse compared to today.

What was it?

Fastest thing I have piloted is still Pete's 600LT (which does 0-124mph in 8.2s). Although it was bone dry, I drove it in <5DegC temps so most heavy throttle just produced wheelspin from the TrofeoR's - even deep into 4th gear. In the brief moments it did fully hook up the shove was mighty.

I still need to get another shot - in warmer weather please..... :geek:

Fastest car I’ve ever been in did 0 to 160 in about 9 secs. An evo 6 that was boosted to the moon and had to have a full bore rally launch to spool the turbo .

What’s cool about modern supercars is that they will do those numbers with reliable engines and decent road manners.

You're a braver man than me - I think I would have declined in such circumstances... or at least not driven it hard enough to get wheelspin in 4th!

How did the car react to that by the way - presumably with all stability systems etc. on so it did a bit of torque vectoring to keep it in a straight line and trimmed the power?

Been out in a P1,which was ballistic, made the 675 we took prior to it feel like a Focus ST

It was completely and utterly nuts, felt like been in a bungee ball with endless elastic pulling you to the horizon, and that Lambo is even more accelerative than that, can't imagine if being much use over here.

I found it amazing how much you have to recalibrate your braking more than anything else, straight road seems to just come and then immediately end and you're at the next corner, and that's in Texas, where there's a lot more room!

The traction control was responding, but it still permitted rather more wheelspin than I was expecting it to (I was in standard drive mode - not "Race" or anything that intentionally relaxed the electronic safety-nets) and it remained (pretty much) straight whilst doing so. The revs flailing/rear end wriggling in 4th at "oh I really wasn't expecting it to do that at this mph" was interesting though. :?

And I guess the the LT a bit over 400hp/tonne. I can't imagine anyone getting out of one after a drive on the road and thinking that they need any more power!

Yes I would think that.

Jumping from my GTS (285bhp/tonne) into my Dad's FF which is a smidge under 350bhp / tonne feels like driving a rocketship so 400+ (which is the same jump again) must be nuts.

600PS/592bhp and just 1247kg. So 475bhp/tonne. :geek:

The elise I race has close to 500hp per tonne and that feels pretty rapid, although my own car currently has 660hp per tonne and feels absolutely ludicrous, but when the body is fitted that will drop below 600 unfortunately
