£11 - £14* for 6 of the tasty little buggers.

* Had to Google it. I was just given a shopping list and didn't check prices until I got to the till. The Christmas Cake I was asked to get was £40
Cheers,

Mike.

Okay, I'll split the YouTube revenue with you all

To be fair it's done better on TikTok, up to about £30 revenue on there. Although that spreadsheet was genuinely from my own research, not harvested from here! I bought all of them, tasted all of them, made a YouTube video and never posted it. And then sent a care package of the leftovers (around 80 mince pies) to @Sundayjumper and his family :)

So you've made a loss on that one (I'm guessing the mince pies overall cost more then thirty quid), and you don't even have mince pies to gorge on to make you feel better?

Who'd do social media, eh?

Yep, I make a loss on most videos, as the short ones (60 - 90 second) take around 2 to 4 hours to make from ideation to posting, often include purchasing a prop, and most of those videos create less than £30 income, usually around £10 to £15.

Social media is surprisingly difficult to make strong AND consistent money, and to be successful you need to be doing something you love, because most of it will be at a loss, or for free. Only 25% of my income comes from making content.

Or in this case, snackrifice.

Based on what we're most likely watching, I suggest you need to introduce some level of rust, dodgy electrics and metalworking to turn a profit. Not sure how that goes with cooking/food, but you're the creative one!

Not sure if you lot will consider this genius or sacrilege, but I give you - mince pie cake.

Simple answer to that question is do you sign up to a club card, and the price is so high to make the club card process look worth signing up for one.

Not sure if it’s still the case but Tesco used to sell the data from sales through a club card to the government and to manufactures so they can see the purchase trends in Tesco, like to see if you buy more fabric conditioners if detergent is on offer and that sort of thing

I definitely could be more 'baity' in my titles, and by the time I've got around to posting I'm usually desperate to work out something vaguely interesting to put as a title. There's quite an art to choosing a title that's not too baity (obvious and therefore people won't click) but baity enough to generate intrigue.

Or I could go the whole ragebait route and start putting errors or complete fallacies into my content to get comments/engagement up lol

Couldn't resist buying a pack of 6 from Greggs yesterday. For a cheapo bakery, they're pretty good.
